Le Shackfuyu est situé au coeur du quartier de Soho. Il est dirigé par la même équipe des réputés Bone Daddies et Flesh & Buns. Inspiré par la cuisine japonaise yoshoku, un style populaire au Japon d'influence western. Le Shackfuyu sert un menu variant régulièrement et fait pour partager entre convives. Le menu du dîner se compose entre autres d'une variété de petits pains (buns) fourrés « gao bao » et d'à côtés divers. Le restaurant propose des banquettes et des tables plus intimes pour les couples, une grande table communautaire, une salle à manger classique et une salle pour les événements privées pouvant accueillir jusqu'à 16 personnes.

Service was friendly and attentive. The pre theatre menu is really value for money and enjoyed all three courses - especially the French toast and matcha ice cream!

All the food was incredible. Rabbit katsu, sando, sukiyaki beef and french toast were all perfect. Can’t wait to come back next time we’re in London.

Superb tasting menu and great value for the amount of food we got. Everything was really tasty and bursting with flavour.

The food quality was really good, however we ordered the tasting menu for £45 per each as a party of 5 , and felt that the volume was super small per person, as if the amount was for 4 people. It felt like had we ordered a couple of the dishes from the main menu, we would have had more between the 5 of us - it didn’t feel like the volume of the tasting menu was factored into 5 people not 4. For example, 4 Salmon Tacos came out for the 5 of us, for not even one each from all having the tasting menu which was disappointing. We had to bring this up and ask to be provided with one more so it was one each, which initially caused some confusion with the staff as to why… similarly the wings we had 1 each, which seemed a little stingy given 5 of us had ordered the tasting menu… The main course volume was much more for the Katsu and Aubergine, but a lot of the Katsu curry was of course rice - this helped the overall amount of food from the meals and it all did taste amazing. But main feedback would be to be more customer centric with the portion sizes of the tasting menu smaller plates, if it’s a party of a few people rather than providing the bare minimum.
