   Great dinner At shaya the food was sensational. The fried chicken humas was sublime. My only nit is that they shut the pita oven off mid way through our dinner (we had an 8:30pm reservation), and all of the dishes require a lot of pita. The difference between the fresh cooked pita and the reheated we got at the end was noticeable. Would recommend and come back.

   As a family who keeps kosher, we were so excited to find an israeli restaurant in New Orleans. The apps and small plates were delicious and filling but the salmon we ordered was disappointing. The couscous typically served with it has shellfish sauce so it had to be replaced with a very dry tasteless rice and the salmon was over cooked. We should have sent it back. It was also really expensive for what we got. Two apps, two drinks, one entree was over $100. Our server was lovely though and the space is beautiful and on a fun area on Magazine street.

   Our experience exceeded our already high expectations! The atmosphere was fun and upbeat, the staff were solid and the food was spectacular! We were also surprised by the portion sizes compared to typical tapas-style restaurants. The cauliflower hummus was delicious and I loved the lamb shank. 10/10 would recommend and will go back!
