Set in the idyllic beachside town of Lennox Head in Northern New South Wales, Shelter is your home away from home, whether you are just passing through or you’re part of the local community. With the community in mind, we endeavor to use ethically sustainable, seasonal products sourced from local producers and suppliers. We are also keen on cultivating and creating awareness of the importance of supporting local growers while educating people about the food they consume as well as where it’s from and how it’s produced. We offer a full service venue from a picturesque beachside ceremony location (across the road), cocktail outdoor area and indoor restaurant with windows folding right back to bring the outdoors in. Our in-house co-ordinator will make preparation for and the running of your day a breeze as we include liaising with the chefs and suppliers, run sheet and coordination on the day. ACCOMMODATION - CUPOLA Recently and tastefully renovated, highlighting the sun from the moment it rises until the stars come out at night, this little nest above our restaurant is the perfect place to stay after your celebrations. Amazing setting with beach in the background, breezy and cool. We had the lunch set menu which we felt was very high quality and great value for the standard of food. Every single dish that came out was absolutely amazing. Drinks were also excellent. Recommend their Chilli margarita. Very pleased to have picked Shelter for a celebratory meal. Thanks

When I browsed the restaurants at Byron Bay during my road trip, the star ratings is quite high, that was the reason why I chose this restaurant. Awesome, I made the right choice! The view was stunning, the ambience was comfortable, and we were welcomed with staff who always had a smiling. The food : appetizers were so good and delicious! Especially the oysters and tuna, but my hubby and son thought that the ginger on top of the oysters could be less in order not to cover the freshness of the oysters. The seasonings of the tuna were perfect! We all loved it. It is worth to go there when you go to Byron Bay to have nice view and good food!

We enjoyed a lunch today (1/2/25) and the food was amazing, from the in-house baked sour dough, Lebanese cucumber & coconut labneh, heirloom tomato salad to the absolutely amazing golden snapper, coconut curry dish, i would highly recommend Shelter to anyone who appreciates great and healthy food...

Gorgeous food and a location to die for. The perfect long lunch. Do not sleep on the vegetable dishes - they are just as amazing as the proteins.
