   We are in Vancouver for a week for work snd loved Shinsen so much, we went twice! The menu offers a perfect blend of traditional and unique options. Being from Alaska, we are picky about fish, esp salmon, and the New Zealand king salmon did not did not disappoint. Our fave rolls were the Samurai (yummy hint of chilis) and the Rainbow (so fresh and loved the flying fish row). The hamachi was the best we’ve had. Service was perfect. The atmosphere was elegant yet cozy. Prices were fair for the excellent quality. Highly recommend.

   Some of the finest sushi I have had since leaving NYC. Meticulously prepared and the fresh wasabi was divine! Sushi bar was a very positive and informative - these chefs know their stuff.

   the sashimi plate was fantastic and so fresh. It was a the highlight of the meal. we ordered a miller roll and it was horrible. It tasted like nothing and the "seared" hamachi was a weird color and just looked so bad. I would go back for the sashimi platter for sure but they need to up their Miller roll. It is just a big gob of beige! I want them to be successful so I hope they appreciate feedback!

   The Sushi was very fresh and delicious. We had a terrific dinner there. I had not found a similar quality sushi restaurant in Vancouver (I haven’t tried them all), and was very happy to find Shinsen Sushi while walking along the Waterfront. It is a great addition to Vancouver’s restaurant scene.

   Appetizers were good $6 for fresh wasabi was not a good value as there wasn't even enough for two people to share. Sashimi nigiri selection was average. Was hoping for more of a variety. Nigiri rice wasn't seasoned. Sushi rolls were good The scallop roll was bland

   I take the appearance of this wonderful sushi restaurant as an indication that Vancouver Washington has completely transformed thanks to the development of its formerly blighted waterfront. The ambience, thanks to an obviously significant investment on the part of the owners, makes one think of Vancouver, BC and not Washington. The design is perfection. A few reviewers have complained about a lack of originality and creativity. I feel as if they must have eaten in a different restaurant. We had salmon and hamachi nigiri. Very fresh and delicious. The first two rolls featured on the menu were also excellent. In addition, the cocktails were also very special. We will return again and again to this wonderful new addition to our local cuisine. Thanks to everyone involved for a special evening.

    We had another delicious dinner at Shinsen Sushi last night! The Smoked Old Fashioned and the Pom Pom were a great way to begin our evening. We also enjoyed the edamame, sunomono salad and an assortment of sushi and rolls.
