The kitchen was overwhelmed. It took a really long time to get the appetizer which was separated cheese with not enough bread. The wait staff were overwhelmed but they should not have seated people if they weren’t staffed. We saw some tables leave in frustration as food was just not coming out. After over an hour, the entrees came but the chowder was not edible - had a paste consistency and was cold. We ended up having to split the burger which had sad looking lettuce and tomatoes on the side - this wasn’t even ski lodge standards much less Brown Palace.

Hi Todd, First, I want to thank you for your feedback, we always appreciate it. I'm very sorry that your visit did not meet your expectations. We strive for exceptional service every time for every guest, and it seems we did not meet our own expectations either. I will personally make sure the staff is informed about this experience and that they receive the tools they need to ensure it does not happen again. We hope you will give us another chance, we would love the opportunity to prove what we're capable of. Sincerely, Jay Bishop F&B Manager

The food and service were both excellent. Great spot for lunch, dinner, and/or drinks. The clam chowder was delicious!

1st time and we will never go back. Mushroom Risotto was out of stock- the one reconcile menu that we were excited about. 11/30/2024- dinner- 1 star Chicken was undercooked- pink. Rachel, our server, was accommodating. y wife and I chose Nickel to celebrate my birthday and catch a show at comedy works. Mussels- not fresh tasting. Chef cooked up salmon fillet to replace the chicken. Still had a strange under cooked taste. Waitress the chicken and a glass of wine off bill., Very disappointed- Scott Griffith 1:40

The food was mediocre at best and the two cocktails I ordered were just filled to the brim with crushed ice and a dash of liquor for flavor. It was basically a snow cone. The service was very friendly, but quite poor. Slow, our needs were not met nor were we checked on much at all. We had to remind him to bring items and ask for everything, even just more water. Overall, with a price tag of about $150 BEFORE tip, I was severely disappointed.

Thank you for letting us dine at the Tavern. We had a lovely weekend. We had asked for high tops or a bar seat, but were given a low top table. The space was a little dirty. A few kids apparently had sat there and the seat were dirty, crayons and food all on the floor. The tables need some table wedges to not be wobbly. Our drinks and food were good. No meat Friday, so fried shrimp and Hush Puppies were great, crab cakes had a good flavor. My salad did come out after the other food. But the Caesar dressing was very good.

Boy this place has goon done hill! Food was not good, service was poor! And the bill was $167.00 for three people. I guess I also have to agree the Brown Palace is not the grand old Hotel it used to be to be… very sad indeed.

Staff was exceptional beginning to end. Anthony our server was attentive; recommended the fish and chips. Best I have ever had. My partner had the prime rib and it was superb. Great, fun experience on Thanksgiving. We will be back. 😊

The food was OK, but the service was awful. Our waitress never checked in with us or very rarely

The old menu was better and a go-to. This new menu incorporates a lot of seafood. That’s a risk in Colorado…one my husband likes to take. This time it didn’t pay off. The shrimp left him feeling ill all night.
