Standing high above the city on the 10th floor of the City Club Apartments, at 309 Vine Street; resurrected from the history that has stood here before our time, Shires' Rooftop is inspired by the first amusement resort in this part of the country, Shires' Garden. Though the original Shires' Gardens burned to the ground, "in a most picturesque fire," the legacy that was left behind is everlasting and an integral part of the Queen City's history. The creation of the Matinee Performance, the regal guests Shires' hosted, an unsolved murder and other noteworthy events that took place at the original Shires' Gardens, are an inspiration to our program that we look forward to sharing with you.

Ambience here is really cool. Kind of a speakeasy/classy library vibe. We didn’t have a table with a view, but I’m sure it would be stellar. Service was great and when we dined it wasn’t very busy. We ordered the chefs feats for two but found the meat lacking seasoning and the beef cuts overcooked to what we ordered. For sides we got the Mac and cheese and French fries which may have been the best part.

Reserved an igloo for a 60th birthday! From the walk in to the walk out was WONDERFUL!!!! Drinks amazing and food was great!!!! Can’t wait to go back

We did the greenhouse experience for my birthday and to be totally honest, it was not impressive. The greenhouse is made up of metal and hard plastic so it didn't really keep the cold air out, even with the heaters inside the greenhouse, and every time the server would come in or out the structure would rattle. Also, what I thought to be fantastic views of the city, were just okay. We didn't go in the igloo they had set up, but those looked way cozier. Lots of blankets and soft lighting! With all that said, the service was great. We were originally in a small, 2 person greenhouse when we first arrived and when I mentioned being cold, they moved us over to a larger one that had just been vacated without us having to ask. The drinks were good and the food was delish. I had the salmon with the crab on top and my husband had the burger. Overall, it was something different to try and minus the greenhouse being a let down, we enjoyed the evening!

We had a perfect evening in our igloo. Such a fun experience to be outside in the winter. The seating was comfortable and the temperature perfect. All of our appetizers were delicious and drinks well made. Our server did an amazing job. I definitely recommend this!
