Standing high above the city on the 10th floor of the City Club Apartments, at 309 Vine Street; resurrected from the history that has stood here before our time, Shires' Rooftop is inspired by the first amusement resort in this part of the country, Shires' Garden. Though the original Shires' Gardens burned to the ground, "in a most picturesque fire," the legacy that was left behind is everlasting and an integral part of the Queen City's history. The creation of the Matinee Performance, the regal guests Shires' hosted, an unsolved murder and other noteworthy events that took place at the original Shires' Gardens, are an inspiration to our program that we look forward to sharing with you.

We had a wonderful experience at Shires from the minute we walked in the door to go up the elevator. It is a beautiful building. The service was superb, the food was fantastic. I’d highly recommend the artichoke dip for anyone that enjoys it, best we’ve ever had. Service was great, ambience was beautiful! Highly recommend!

We were in town for my daughter's graduation from NKU and spent a lot of time online for a nice restaurant that would accommodate 8 people. After a long search, we were fortunate to have find Shires' Rooftop. Our table was ready as reserved (although some of our party was a tad late due to downtown parking and inclement weather). The atmosphere was perfect, the food was excellent, and our server Mara did an excellent job taking care of our needs. She checked un us at reasonable intervals without being overbearing. She anticipated our needs (that were normal for a party of 8). If were in the area again, we'll certainly dine there. I would suggest reservations if you are dining there and be aware of crowded parking in the downtown area.

We had our company Christmas party last night. We enjoyed the food, the company, and the staff did an excellent job! The view was beautiful, and we certainly will go back again. Charlie and Lori Peterson.

Celebrated a birthday with the green house experience and was thoroughly disappointed. The green house was dreadfully cold (the heat wasn’t working) and poorly decorated.

Our first visit to Shire’s did not disappoint! Beautiful restaurant with great views! Katrina took very good care of our party of six. Chef does an excellent job creating unique flavor profiles. Tried the fried green tomato, beef Wellington and mussels appetizers. All were perfectly prepared and delicious! Our entrees included the pork chop, salmon, shrimp & scallops, and chicken roulade. Again all dishes were delicious!! The only negative was the chicken was a little dry and could have used a sauce to help with that; but the pea risotto that accompanied it was very tasty. The pear mocktail was lovely too!! Perfect place for special occasion dinner!!!

We had a good time. Serve we was great. Food was really good. The problem was that the lights were so so bright, plates and glassware mix matched and cheap, only one bartender so we didn’t get served while waiting for a table (we arrived early before our reservation), and battery candles all off. It felt like the place needed a little refresher.

Our second time here. Was nearly empty on a Friday. Our server was great but everything else was awful. Drinks were made incorrectly, food took a while and was not good. Pasta was unsalted, overcooked and had been sitting around for a while. Would not recommend and will not return.
