                                            We had a reservation before a theatre event on Saturday. I had received several reminders about my upcoming reservation and when we arrived, the restaurant was closed.

                                            Disappointing service! We were given a table right next to the kitchen in the back while there were lots of other tables available closer to the entrance/window. It was hard to take because of the noise. I asked to change tables and was told “no” with an explanation that they can’t change things in the system, which is clearly not true. Then we were told to leave in 1 hour 15 mins, so we were basically chased away and had to find another place to continue our outing. Don’t recommend, unless you are there to grab a quick bite.

                                            I used to frequent Shojo and loved the restaurant, the waitstaff, the drinks and the food (sesame greens were dream-worthy, although they haven’t been back on the menu for some time). Yesterday I booked an 8:15 reservation on Open Table and when we arrived they informed us last call was 8:25pm (for food AND drinks). We were so rushed so we ordered right away, they brought out all the food and drinks at the same time, and then were cleaning up around us and a few other tables the whole time. At the end our server said “let me take that rag for you” and he took my napkin off of my lap! 🤣 It was funny sort of and I know it’s not their fault but I don’t think it makes sense to offer at 8:15 as a reservation time if people have only 10 mins to order everything (including drinks) and then get rushed out. Still love them and will try it again but overall it was not amazing and they need to take that time off of open table if they’re going to rush you through dinner.

                                            Definitely make reservations! Tried to get in as a single diner and wasn’t able to get a seat. Made reservation for 15 minutes later and was totally fine. Bit strange but happy to get in. Food was good.

                                            Haven’t been here for a while and definitely notice a difference. The food was just ok sat with dirty dishes on the table even after we got the check. The server made no effort to clear the dishes or wipe food off the table. Not a great experience
