   Vibe was loud from the food court environment, service seemed a person short…but the sushi was fantastic, and I will definitely be back for another great meal.

   Went here with my date for Valentine’s Day. The sushi was excellent and the service was polite, but it seemed like they were unprepared for the reservations they took. Despite having a strict policy regarding arriving on time, we were not seated until well after our reservation time. For the first 30 minutes, it felt as though the waitstaff was operating in complete chaos. While trying to find us seating, they had to move numerous parties around that had already been seated. Two different staff members asked us a total of four times for our name and reservation before remembering us. Fortunately, the food was fantastic once we were able to enjoy it. For the high price of the special Valentine’s Day meal, I expected a more organized experience. I would come back for regular service, however.

   Our family enjoys coming to Shokunin. The restaurant staff are always friendly and prompt. The sushi is deliciously and creatively prepared omakase style by knowledgeable and specialized chefs. We can’t wait for the Redlands location to open.

   Very sad to see every aspect of this establishment go downhill the way it did. The only thing that is good now is the ambience. This used to be the only place in the Inland Empire that we thought had acceptable omakase. First off, no one greeted us. After we were seated, there was an awkward wait as noone introduced or explained anything. Though no fault of their own, all the workers that day were pretty inexperienced and soft-spoken. Minimal words and interaction. Also, I had the strong sense that they didn't want to be there. Really dampened what was supposed to be a birthday celebration. We ordered the premium omakase. There is beginner's attempt at making it. The rice texture and how it was prepared were all novice. For the amount I paid, I will opt for authentic omakase restaurants in the future where the sushi is made by actual chefs. They shouldn't offer the option of omakase when they don't actually have the chefs available. Waste of time and money. Also risk of low review. Omakase cannot just be made by any available employee.

   I LOVE THIS PLACE. An obviously cheaper omakase but the service is great and the quality of the fish is amazing. It’s inside of a food hall so it can be noisier than traditional omakase restaurants.

    The quality and creativity of omakase-style nigiris and roll were fantastic as always. The chef was very skillful and professional. Ingredients were fresh. A true gem in the bustling Haven Market. Yeah the ambience and noise levels are not as ideal due to being inside a food hall, but they make the best out of it, and the cuisine is truly delicious.
