Shorty's Steakhouse is a unique dining experience. Established more than 20 years ago, along the historic Randolph Street in downtown Garrett, Indiana. Shorty's Executive Head Chef James Morrow has created & curated our menu over 10 years, carefully straddling the line of fine steakhouse dining, with small-town Indiana fare.

We are located in Garrett, Indiana, 10 minutes from the historic Auburn downtown and the ACD museum. Also, 20 minutes north of Fort Wayne, Indiana, 15 minutes from Kendallville, Indiana and 25 minutes south of Angola, Indiana. We love that we bring all these communities together at Shorty's.

Shorty's is proud to offer bar seating, family room seating and an outdoor patio we completed last year.
We are laid-back and believe our guests' enjoy the incredible service & food without having to "dress-up".

Lovely time with excellent food and great service from Eli. You really need to promote your in house scratch made desserts by letting your servers taste and describe them to guests. They were AMAZING!! Would have passed on them if it were not from the fun interaction with our server. Excellent end to our meal!!!

From the moment we entered the restaurant we were catered to down to the last detail. Hostess was bright cheery and very friendly. We were a few minutes early, so I thought maybe we’d have to wait, but our table was ready for us as soon as we walked in the door. Front of house manager, Michael came over and spoke to us at the table as we were being seated. Asked if us if he could grab anything for us, it was a very nice touch and made us feel welcome. Our waitress came right over and got the kids drinks and some cocktails for me and my wife. She explained the specials very well and made sure the kids got some bread and butter right away. Michael, the manager, he was on top of it as well, as soon as rolls were gone, he made sure my kids had more Food and drinks came out in a timely manner, and all were excellent. I started with a nice craft beer, Shorty‘s old fashion during the salad. And a nice house Cabernet during dinner. I had the special, blue cheese crusted filet mignon. After the meal even chef, James came out to our table to thank us, and make sure that everything came out per ordered. I would highly recommend Shorty’s. Seems like the staff is trained in hospitality and the food is so delicious .

Great steaks and burgers, but our compliments to the Chef for superb Sea Bass special! It’s difficult to find fresh and not fried fish in Indiana. Will be back

Delicious food and dining experience. Hands down some of the best quality of food and the crusted walleye, "chef's kiss"..

A group of us came in to finally try Shortys out last night. Wow, the food as absolutely amazing, service was top notch! We all agreed the crab crusted fillet was the best we ever ate anywhere! Our server was wonderful! Drinks were great as well. If you haven’t tried Shorty’s you should. Not sure why it took us so long, but we will all be back more often now!

We frequent Shorty’s, and value Shorty’s as a place to bring clients. Last night we were there for an appreciation dinner for a couple employees who have gone above and beyond lately. Appetizers were great, drinks on point and our waitress was AH-MAZING!! Main course is when the meal went downhill, and fast! One person ordered a burger which was served with tater sauce and had to be sent back because it wasn’t mayonnaise, 2 steaks were cooked but came out cold to the touch, yes we were aware they were ordered medium/rare, but there was zero warmth to the grill marks, and another ordered the flatbread, which came out a lot later than the steaks/burger. It must not have been the best as said person only ate 1 “slice”. Overall this was a disappointment for us this time.
