   Our 1st time here. Great small, intimate location. The food was amazing. The drinks were good...well made. The Basque cheesecake was a perfect end to dinner.

   Consistently outstanding! The small bites, cocktails, and service are top-notch, making this a monthly favorite for us. A special shoutout to Kaylee—she’s fantastic, personable, and crafts an incredible pumpkin spice espresso martini!    Our second time at Sidecar with friends. Our server was very knowledgeable about their cocktails and which spirits were mixed in , and the food . Her recommendations made the evening.

   It took two weeks for me to get a reservation at Sidecar for our 31st wedding anniversary. I wish I had chosen differently. NEVER have expectations been so high for such a terrible experience. And, this is my first poor review of any establishment, ever. Online, there is no specific menu listed, however, I assumed what is listed, “finest libations and culinary delights” would allow for excellent drinks and food. The drinks were overpriced and moderate quality (“The Signature”is their “Old Fashioned”. It’s SMOKED and priced at $25 per glass, we have made better at our home). The food options were a wedge salad, a couple of flat breads a charcuterie board, a flat iron steak meal and another steak for $125. (Yes, One hundred and twenty five dollars, that is no typo.) No chicken dishes whatsoever. We ordered the flat iron steak and charcuterie. The flat iron came thickly sliced over a bed of greens- so basically it was a salad. It was the best part of the experience. The charcuterie was terrible (hard to get meat and cheese wrong) but this contained one kind of hard cheese and a few meats, some dried apricots, figs, one single blackberry and some strange pate that looked and tasted like brain might. I ate a bit before my stomach started churning. Just awful. Online also listed House Rules and Etiquette; *Dress to impress! Cocktail attire is admired although not obligatory. *Keep it classy: no coarse language or unsavory dispositions. We are all about the good vibes”. We arrived 15 minutes early, concerned that we may be underdressed in cashmere sweater’s and slacks (I had on heels). At 6:30pm a group of 6 middle aged men walked in wearing shorts, t-shirts, and ball caps. They were seated at the bar directly behind us and were clearly already intoxicated, but there for more drinks. Their yelling and laughing so was loud that it overtook our entire experience. So much for keeping it classy.. Left hungry and irritated. NEVER AGAIN.

   ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "We recently had the pleasure of dining at Sidecar, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a great evening. The food was absolutely delicious; every dish was prepared to perfection, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. The live music added such a delightful touch, creating a lively and enjoyable ambiance. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff who made sure everything was just right.    Sidecar is a speakeasy, which means the emphasis is on high end cocktails and attentive service. It’s a small, intimate setting with have a dozen tables on one side and a long bar on the other. Mostly small plate menu items, which pair nicely with craft cocktails. I think it’s a great addition to the dining and drinking choices along Main Street in Newhall.

   First time dining at Sidecar, we've been fans of The Old Town Junction, their sister restaurant for years, so our expectations were high. We were able to get a prime (7pm) reservation for this weekend with only a week's notice. First good sign was unlike some other places here in Santa Clarita, they actually had our table reserved and waiting for us when we showed up for our reservation, something that would be a given in L.A. at a place like this. There's a storefront with a hostess where we checked in, she pressed a button and one of the walls opens to provide entry into the secret dining room. It's an intimate rectangular room with a long bar along the left side and a half dozen tables along the right, it's decor of wood and mirrors is warm and welcoming, offering a bit of panache and setting the vibe for the evening. It's an intimate place, for those in the know.Christian welcomed us to our table, got us menus and water, and told us about the daily specials, he also introduced our bartenders for the evening who are he ones that actually take your orders. We started with a round of cocktails and oysters on the half shell. I had The Signature which is a riff on an Old Fashioned that comes covered and when you take off the coaster on top you are met with swirl of smoke. My wife had the Spanish Gin & Tonic which was a generous portion filled with spices and slices of fruit. The oysters were fresh and prepared with sauce and a lime granita that was delicious. For our second round I had the bartender make me a bespoke cocktail, which we later christened "Everything Nice" and included a housemade cinnamon simple syrup (sugar, spice, and ....) and my wife had the Lotus, we also had the pork belly and fig shortbread, once again everything was delicious. We finished with a chicken empanada from the specials menu. The food was fresh, creative, and delicious. The drinks were solid. The service was great. We will definitely be coming back again very soon.
