   I had never been to a restaurant that locked its door to customers. No menus indoors; had to go outside and view on a board, and then have someone unlock the door to let me back inside. Reservation was for 12 and we arrived 15-20 minutes early. They were kind enough to seat us then proceeded to ignore us with 0 contact for at least 10 minutes. When server took our order, she said she would make sure to get it in before the kitchen closes at noon. A breakfast place that stops serving at noon? Had we not arrived early we would have had no food. Food itself was well prepared.

   I found this place in a random google search looking for coffee shops while on an overnight trip to the area. Coffee and breakfast was amazing. Atmosphere was calm and pleasing. Service was top notch. Would definitely recommend and will return if we’re in the area.

   First time in Charlotte and I needed a coffee, came across smelly cat but we missed it by 5min. The employee noticed us trying to get in and came out and invited us in to ask the owner of other coffee shops that may be open. The owner was so nice to inform us of other places around and let us know that we could male a reservations for the next morning and sit inside! We did just that and it was so nice and cute inside and the coffee was great! We also have breakfast biscuits which were yummy! Owner and staff were so nice and accommodating.

   Met an out of town friend here for coffee, breakfast, and conversation and enjoyed it greatly.

   I travel extensively and am into coffee. Smelly Cat makes the best cappuccino I’ve ever had anywhere.

   The place is quaint! Loved the decor and the staff was very friendly and personable! I had the mocha, white mocha cafe with the zucchini bread and it was Delish!!! And my daughter had the hot chocolate and the sausage egg burrito and she also enjoyed her meal!!! We will definitely come back and try the quiche!!!
