   Love the atmosphere! We were seated at a small table with velvety chairs in the big room with the fireplace. Very cozy. Our waiter was attentive. Love that they serve Josh red wine. We both ordered the NY strip steak. It was ok. Mediocre at best. Ordered the baked cookie with vanilla ice cream. Delicious.

   Cozy restaurant in Cohoes downtown area. Parking was good. Seating was quick. Service and food delivery was very, very slow. Place was decorated for Christmas, so the atmosphere was cozy and festive. Very old inside. Dark paneling and fireplace, but poor lighting, although there were overhead lights and chandeliers. We were surprised to be charged for a refill on coffee, despite purchasing drinks, 5 meals plus dessert. That left a bad feeling. Overall the experience was ok. Would choose another place next time.

   New Years Eve is not the best time to gauge the good and the bad of any venue, we were seated promptly, slight wait. To be waited on. Cheerful ,friendly overworked server did. her best in serving, which was fine. Food quality and temperature were good, considering the crowd. Noise level was high as expected for the holidays. All in all, a good experience and will return to try again without the holiday .

   Smith’s is a very good place to go for a bite to eat if you’re not looking aren’t looking for a quiet atmosphere. The atmosphere, especially in the lounge area with a fireplace and couches, is very much like an English pub. The menu is generally upscale pub food, with a nice variety of appetizers, soup/salad, sandwiches, interesting pizzas, and entrees. This time I chose the pizza with arugula and prosciutto, a very tasty combination. Others chose the hot honey chicken pizza, a marghereta pizza, a smashburger, and a soup/salad. They have a good selection of beers and cocktails too. The service was excellent, not only competent, but personable as well. Although we all enjoyed our food, the pizza crusts were a little too charred. Otherwise the rating would be 5 stars.

   Lunch before a show at Cohoes Music Hall. Biggest mozzarella sticks I have ever seen and they were delicious!! Espresso Martini was delicious too!

    Had a group of 10 for dinner. Service was great. Everyone enjoyed their food. Would highly recommend! A few in our group had never been to Smith’s before and said they are definitely going back!
