With over 20 years of experience in the kitchen, Nicholas McCann, now Executive Chef of Society Cafe, has always been passionate about food. Drawing inspiration from his family recipes, Nicholas quickly fell in love with the culinary world at a young age and began his career at The French Culinary Institute in NYC. Since then, he has worked with some of the city’s most acclaimed chefs and restaurants, including working alongside Chef Luis Bollo of Salinas before moving on to become an Executive Chef at TESSA, The Milling Room, and Corkbuzz.

At Society Cafe, Chef Nicholas flexes his creativity by bringing a fresh perspective to the restaurant’s ‘market-to-table’ concept. With a rotating seasonal menu reflective of the city’s local farmers and markets, guests can expect to experience Chef Nicholas’ unique culinary creations alongside its intimate & classic art deco inspired space.

I loved the fact that the dishes were what you’d expect to see on a brunch menu but taken up a notch by their unique flavors. Take the chicken and waffles - instead Society Cafe turned it into a chicken waffle sandwich with such a yummy sauce! YUM! Regular drip coffee - tasted heavenly! The service was great. Our server, Jesus, gave us such a wholesome experience- he’s a gem! The ambience - delightful! A wonderful experience for a couple that rarely gets to go out…so glad I found it!

Hi Antonio, We are so sorry that this was your experience. We generally try not to rush our guests and want to provide a relaxed evening to those who join us, but there is a clear distinction between slow service and giving our guests space and we can certainly recognize that. The coffee was also shocking to hear about as we regularly calibrate our system and we have a long standing relationship with our coffee purveyor, Coffee of Grace. We like to think of our cocktails as a bit classic but we stick to high quality ingredients and fresh juices. Our kitchen is happy to cook meat to temperatures requested by our guests. We also have delicious house-made desserts! Again, we are very sorry to hear about your experience. If there are any other details we are open to discuss and improve!

Went for breakfast/brunch. Attentive service, beautiful interior, and delicious food! Would love to come back for dinner sometime soon!

Society Cafe felt like an elegant speakeasy. It had ambiance and lovely decor. We enjoyed the cuisine and the prices were quite reasonable. The service was exceptional.

This is a very pretty restaurant, with a lovely vibe, and the food is good, but considering how not crowded it was, I thought the service was pretty slow. We would, however, consider going back.

For Dinner we sometimes maintain a comfortable pace but usually we are able to accommodate guests who prefer a quicker meal. Thank you again for your observations, it is very helpful!

Lovely vibe and food is excellent. But, portions are very small. Services was rude and rushed us out despite having many open tables. Had she offered us a coffee and a space to sit in the lobby- all would be fine. However there was no attempt to be kind and no reason to rush is.
