I never leave bad review but this was Pure disappointment, service didn’t seem very happy to work there also forgot our dessert so we waited over 30mins for them (could be the kitchen), only positive is that manager accommodate us to move to other table as originally we were given table in the bar area which we didn’t like as we booked the restaurant area. Food was tragic, scallop starter was terrible, scallops overcooked and cold, crumbled black pudding , half crispy bacon and dead watercress leaves without any salt or anything . Halibut and steak for mains again very poor, lack of seasoning is mind blowing for place supposed to be best seafood restaurant in the country. We sat down across to the kitchen window and they were just chatting arround and didn’t really Give any love to the food. The rib eye steak is meat from Peter Hannan which is premium beef but wasn’t treated with any respect it was so bad that I had to ask the waitress for salt . Side of chips which are the cheapest chips from Sysco again no salt and 6 pieces of cold tender stem broccoli was just laughable. The desserts were the nicest part of the meal chocolate and hazelnut log was lovely but the key lime pie was bought in tart shell and lemon puree was way too aggressive but still better than the other courses Overall the experience was terrible is beautiful restaurant but the food was pure embarrassment for 75 euro, hopefully they just ran out of salt on the day and had a bad day but disappointing kitchen performance.

So I would like to as honest and tell exactly 💯 how my experience of Sole restaurant.. We had our meal for 3 people, on 21st Dec 7pm.. Very nice first impression and nice welcome to our Table.. We had nice cocktails and a bottle of white alberino wine.. Roped mussels very small and broth was too salty and thin.. Prawn cocktail = 5 prawns and small dipping sauce.. Crab claws = small and Tasteless.. Fish and chips = fish absolutely terrible batter. Cockles Saint Jacques = Tasteless.. Sole meuniere = okay but 10€ supplement.. Desserts all good .. €75 per head and Total cost = €335.. I would like to say I would come back but unfortunately not..

I love Sole, genuinely one of my favourite restaurants which I visit every Christmas. I booked this months in advance. However this year I felt extremely rushed. I love my food however at one point I had to ask can we wait a while for dessert, as we had eaten our starters and mains very close together. We got our dessert about 5 minutes later (too quickly) and immediately got our tea and coffee and a couple of minutes after that we got the bill! We were going to order cocktails however at this stage we knew they wanted the table back. So we just paid and left. Really disappointed.

Staff were friendly, food was just okay. I did inform the waiter, although he didn’t seem to know how to react.

We arrived on the busiest night of the year, the Friday before Christmas and the host found us a table for drinks, 40 mins before our table reservation, as every pub and bar was full. We really appreciated it. It was not easy to do, as the restaurant was fully booked. We had a delicious meal and a great night. They didn’t rush us out of there either at the end of the night.
