   Restaurant is very nice. Kinda speakeasy vibe with great cocktails. Food is okay but the atmosphere is unmatched with black excellence.

   The ambiance was stunning. Rustic and chic like a sexy jazz bar or cigar lounge. Perfect for a date night, girls night or fellas night. The staff is beyond amazing. I was early for my reservation and the host directed me to the bar to wait. I was taken care of by Oscar, who is passionate about what he does and it shows with the attentiveness, thoroughness and care he gave me. I appreciated that so much. He told me about all the fun cocktails. I appreciated the SirDavis old fashioned and tried the Uncle Nearest too. I love that they have black owned products stocked! Akil was my server and I loved his personality. I dined alone but the staff’s hospitality made me feel right at home. Akil suggested the collard green lasagna…which I know, I know, BUT TRY IT. It was amazing! I also tried the Mac & cheese and Brussels and they did not disappoint. Sonya cleared my plates and boxed and bagged my food for me, which was so nice. The espresso martini was top notch as well, Oscar informed me the espresso is the same from Hilltop. The live music was such a lovely touch. I enjoyed myself from start to finish. This was the perfect dinner experience. Thank you! I will be back and bring friends!

   A gorgeous speakeasy, vibe with amazing wait staff and hosts who make you feel welcome before you walk in the door. Loved everything about this exciting new dinner club. The menu is rich and delicious. Only teeny suggestion is to rethink the tables. Our table for four was a one sided V shaped bank head, which was awkward and uncomfortable to talk to anyone but the person next to you.

    Somerville is beautiful. The architecture of the building, the lighting, the blend of all the furnishings... just lovely. The service was very attentive and knowledgeable. The live jazz trio was wonderful and added to the sophisticated ambiance. The food was very good, but the price/portion ratio was off, and the portions were uneven. The New York steak, albeit thin, wa a decent size, whereas the filet mignon was smaller than a credit card and even thinner. It is a wonderful place for couples, date night and for sitting close. But 4 or more really should not be booked. The tables/booths are just too small. Lovely, but not for 4-6 people. There is no quiet area for people who don't want to compete with the trio. And lastly, there were so many service people walking back and forth all the time, that it was distracting. My meal, the friend chicken sliders was wonderful in flavor and portion size but I don't think I'll return there soon. But, if you are looking for a "spot" and you have money to throw down, Somerville will hit the spot!
