Guests are asked to dine on our share-style Expressions of Song Bird Menu at $138 per person, allowing guests to celebrate with a glorious feast of Chef Neil Perry’s signature dishes. To enjoy the full Song Bird experience, diners have the option of enhancing their menu by adding chef’s Menu Supplements. Stunning use of heritage building, beautiful effort all round of food, service and ideas.
Personally looking forward to more gluten feee dumpling offerings. As dumplings are DELICIOUS. The range and flavours are YUM YUM YUM.

We love the food at Songbird. The Spencer Gulf prawn har gow, is outstanding, the spinach and garlic chive dumplings and the chicken with ginger and soy excellent. The only disappointment was the banana and salted caramel pudding which was not up to the standard of the desserts we have enjoyed at Songbird on previous occasions. This one needs to be let go from the menu!

We booked the Lunar New Year banquet on our selection $138/pp. The host was trying to be cultural upon welcome saying that they’ve all been taught how to say happy new year in Chinese but she forgot now and then tried to say with another saying which found really wrong while laughing hard sounds so disrespectful. I respect the effort but perhaps avoid it if you don’t know. I found it she’s being stereotypical and tried too hard without being sincere. We were seated at the corner which was nice but then we had 3 different waiters coming to the table, one asked for water, then drinks, then what we would like to order. Which was really odd as I booked the banquet - why do you ask again!
Food was amazing though, but service was terrible - my partner just finished putting the fish on my bowl the waiter hurriedly took the plate with leftover sauce without even asking then again with the crab dish.
The worst was a female waiter who hasn’t served our table - came and brought our dessert. She basically slammed the dessert plate on our table and said “this is your dessert” then left. The whole banquet experience, we had the waiter explained to us about the dessert. This waiter had some real attitude! My partner doesnt generally comment even agreed that was crummy.
She needs some training!
Kudos to the manager that night who walked us under the rain to Bobbie’s for our night cap. Overall, we’d go back for the food and ambiance. But, something needs to be worked on for the service.
