Soothr, properly pronounced “Sood” is the Thai word meaning “Recipe”. This East Village establishment is the vision of close friends who grew up in different regions of Thailand, hoping to share their experiences and recipes with the rest of the world. Raised in distinctive regional cities, each individual brings their own unique relationship with Thai cuisine, with a specific focus on the generational family recipes that have shaped their childhood and time growing up in Thailand. With a specialty in family noodle recipes from throughout Thailand, Soothr offers a culinary experience that is geared towards the comfort and warmth of dining at home. These traditional recipes have brought great comfort and a sense of home for generations, and Soothr at its core is an invitation to sit at the table and enjoy a classic, Thai family meal.

    Our evening at Soothr was wonderful. We had made reservations in advance. It was right around the corner from where we saw a theatrical performance. Cool space, great food, friendly staff. The food flew out of the kitchen to our table. I was astonished at how fast food came out and the place was packed. Reasonable prices. I will definitely come back when I am in New York. Highly recommend.

    Amazing food and drinks! They were kind enough to get us another table when we missed our window. Traffic in New York is crazy!! Thank you Soothr staff! Can’t wait to be back!

    The food here was incredible! I will come here every time I’m in the city. The flavors explode in your mouth and the service is also amazing. Cocktails and food do not disappoint!

    They rushed us through so fast it was uncomfortable so not an experience.! Liked it but not sure it would be my go to place. Rich good food and a very nice group of people running it.

    Absolutely incredible- and the bang for buck in NYC is undeniable What we got: (loved ALL of it) Chicken khoa soi Beef pad si iw Moo Dang Puff (appetizer/small bites)

    Been wanting to try Soothr for the longest and it did not disappoint. Almost certainly my new favorite restaurant of 2025. Food and drinks are fantastic!
