Soothr, properly pronounced “Sood” is the Thai word meaning “Recipe”. This East Village establishment is the vision of close friends who grew up in different regions of Thailand, hoping to share their experiences and recipes with the rest of the world. Raised in distinctive regional cities, each individual brings their own unique relationship with Thai cuisine, with a specific focus on the generational family recipes that have shaped their childhood and time growing up in Thailand. With a specialty in family noodle recipes from throughout Thailand, Soothr offers a culinary experience that is geared towards the comfort and warmth of dining at home. These traditional recipes have brought great comfort and a sense of home for generations, and Soothr at its core is an invitation to sit at the table and enjoy a classic, Thai family meal.

    Been wanting to try Soothr for the longest and it did not disappoint. Almost certainly my new favorite restaurant of 2025. Food and drinks are fantastic!

    Straight to the point, this is the best Thai food I’ve had. I’ve been to many different Thai places in many different cities and this trumps them all. You feel like you’ve been transported to Thailand from an ambiance perspective. The service is quick, attentive, and friendly. The moo dang puffs appetizer melts in your mouth and the two noodle entrees I tried were exceptional. The mango and sticky rice sundae was unique and worked wonders after a spicy meal. It you’re visiting NYC this place is a must. Highly recommend!

    I am not sure why but there was a bad smell that did not let me enjoy my meal. I didnt eat my food, took it home. I got a lychee martini, it was good. Thai Iced Tea was good. Service was okay.
