    So we had dinner reservations our first night at the resort, the tables are right on the sand. There were storms in the area so the staff had us wait to be seated as they were not sure if it would rain. After 10 minutes they gave us the go ahead to sit at our table. The food was excellent, we ordered the grilled clams for out appetizer, trying to remember our main dishes, I will come back to that, now I remember, I had the lobster fettuccini and my wife had the paella. Both delicious. So we are eating and the rain starts, the staff was excellent in getting everyone up to the Vegan Bar and out of the rain. They brought our food and managed to keep it warm. It rained for a while so we stayed on the Vegan bar patio and listened and watched the storm. Overall it was a great evening and I would highly recommend Sotavento.

    I was hoping I'd get the same experience as when I visited three years ago. And they didn't disappoint! Amazing! The charred oysters are my absolute fav! The salad was delicious and the serve and turf- amazing as well!

    Utterly one of the best meals I have ever eaten! Highly recommend. Get a reservation early.

    Unfortunately, Hurricane Helene temporarily destroyed SOTAVENTO. But the ANDAZ stepped up to the plate, and found a lovely substitute location in a garden. We did not have a view of the ocean, but still had wonderful food. My husband raved over the gorgeous grilled clams, while I had a wonderful caprese salad. Then I devoured my huge lobster tail, while my hubby enjoyed his grilled chicken. A perfect ending to our vacation! Meeting the executive chef ERIC was the thrill of our meal. Of course, server VICTOR was outstanding as usual. KUDOS to manager Daniel for a well-orchestrated evening.

    The food and view were amazing. The wait staff started out strong but got overwhelmed at the end. Would definitely eat there again either way.

    Sotavento is an amazing restaurant with great staff. The location is beautiful. You can literally put your toes in the sand if you want to. The service was top notch. Our food was amazing. We got the sea bass and we also started with oysters. The location was perfect as we were staying at the Andaz. Definitely make reservations in advance.

    A beautiful background for a lovely dinner. The food was superb, although the vegetarian pasta (essentially the only vegetarian main) was a let down. Service was excellent. And, yes, it's expensive and we knew that going in. The one real drawback was the smoke from the grills - it was intense and we were as far away as could be. By the end of the meal, my eyes were watering, and both of our clothes smelled like we were at a campfire for hours. It seems easy enough to direct the smoke away from the diners - I wonder why they haven't done this since it did make the meal significantly less enjoyable. However, still overall, a nice experience.

    Not much choice If you dont eat seafood. Also for the kids the number of meals to choose from is moderate. The Food itself was good. Although, We had a picanha. It was cooked to far, asked for medium it was Cooked weldone. The price of the Food is over the top!! It is even more expensive than in a good restaurant in the netherlands. I would not expect this in Mexico. We had two small scoops of icecream for 10 euro? A beer costs around 8 euro per bottle…

    The food was delicious and the service was great. It did take a little more time to get our food than usual. It is right on the beach so it is very windy, but it was not cold or uncomfortable. Would definitely eat there again.
