We were so looking forward to dining at soul mamma venue on valentines night but were taken to a room upstairs for our meal instead of the live music area. I found the man on the door quite rude when I queried this as it was not clear on their website that you had to buy a ticket for the live music! Many others had made the same mistake! The room upstairs couldn’t cope with the diners and delivered starters that were cold twice, we didn’t have cutlery to eat the starters and ended up leaving as the service etc was awful!

Me and my partner booked this music venue/ restaurant for Valentine’s Day. We were made to sit upstairs, away from the live singers and band which was very dissatisfying. We were seated at 8pm and received our mains at 9:30pm, which wasn’t even the complete main meal as we didn’t get our salad or rice/ peas. The lighting kept coming off and on, we were asked several times what our order was when we had already informed them. The value for money was poor. We paid £57 per person for a meal that was incomplete, we wasn’t catered to properly. We were promised Prosecco and didn’t receive this. We also had to wait about an hour for drinks. The waiters/ waitresses were stressed and rushed off of their feet which clearly had an impact on service. Other couples were also disappointed and complained about how the night was organised. Would not be coming back here. It dampened our valentines evening unfortunately.

We were there on Friday night for a birthday celebration. There was also a live band on. The band were great, really funky and soulful. We enjoyed that. The food was ok just very small portions. More of an appetiser. The real disappointment was the service. There was no wine list. We just chose the house white and then we had to wait 49 mins for the drinks to arrive. We did speak to the manager on the night and our bill was discounted.

We recently dined at Soul Mama, and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience! The food was delicious, and the service was great. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we were happy throughout our meal. A highlight of the our brunch was getting to meet the Executive Chef Aleandro Brown which added a personal touch to our visit. We would recommend Soul Mama.

We were there for lunch so cannot really comment on the ambience of what it must be like at an evening meal with live music. We were the only people there at that time so obviously it was quiet. This was right for us but may not be for someone looking for a more busy atmosphere during lunch. Food was excellent and staff were swift, knowledgeable, careful and attentive. Can't complain. Will return for an evening meal in the future to enjoy the live music and busier atmosphere which the venue surely thrives on.

A fantastic venue with great music. The food was very good, although a vegan dessert to accompany the vegan chantilly cream would be good. Service was very slow, but friendly.

DBV CIC had a business dinner at Soul Mama Kitchen and it was lovely! The experience in regards to phone calls and emails to affirm our booking was lovely. We requested a table do that we could have discussions for our steering group and we received this. The overall experience is amazing! We love the venue and entertainment. There is room for improvement as some of our guests didn't receive their full main meal together and plates of food were served separately instead of all mains together. Some of us ended up eating at different times. The food was very tasty but not hot enough which was a shame. One of our guests asked for extra sauce and didn't receive it. The floor manager did offer our table complimentary drinks for an error on the staff members part this was a nice touch. We would book again for sure.

The food was good but the service was not great. We walked in and had to speak to someone at the bar to get seated. Our reservation at the restaurant was for 10pm but we were told the kitchen was about to close as soon as we sat. Also, as soon as the live music was over at about 10.30pm, they started clearing the stage and covering the instruments with dust covers while people were still eating. Overall, the concept of the restaurant seems good but the service and organisation just needs to be a whole lot better.
