   My first visit. Customer service was amazing. Thank you Unique and our server. Food was good but the greens were a little salty for my taste. Portion sizes were decent and drinks were very good. A little pricey for what we had (chicken and fish), however, I’m a firm believer in charging what you believe you’re worth. Would definitely return and support.

   Impromptu date went well. I've been to this location multiple times. From 1st point of contact to check out, the service was great. The food was favorable per usual. To my surprise, happy hour was in effect. That menu was reasonably priced and good bites. We will return. Overall menu will have you wanting to build a meal. Fortunately, you can't go wrong with whatever you choose.

   The appetizers are delicious, fried green tomatoes and short rib tacos are a treat. I didn’t care for the seafood fried rice but the manager took the dish off my bill and replaced my dish with the hot honey fried chicken. I requested the sauces on the side but the chicken was really good plain. The only negative thing I have to say is that a can of club soda is $7 and that is insane because that’s the price of a twelve pack and the waitress didn’t enlighten me about the price and I ordered two. I was not happy about that but that’s the only complaint. Everything else was fantastic. It was a once in my lifetime experience.

   Met the Chef/owner and she was so amazing and sweet! The food is cooked from the heart and definitely her soul! The Woodson Family will be back!

   Absolutely amazing experience. One of my new favs in the city. I will be back and bring friends! The food was definitely made to order-(i burned the roof of my mouth being so greedy over the dip!- somebody should add shrimp to that dish). The staff were so warm and checked on me often. The pork chops were scrumptious-not over-fried, not over-seasoned, and tender—they took care with it! I was so pleased with the ambience…if ur a music lover ur going to be boppin your head while you chew! Great spot. Great experience.

   My daughter and I came here the day after Thanksgiving craving the goodness and warmth that we experienced the last time we came to Soul Prime, and our expectations were EXCEEDED!!! I wish I had the name of our server, because she was phenomenal! She made us immediately feel like we were family and at home. We ordered WAY more than we could actually eat because the menu is simply irresistible!! I ordered the fried green tomatoes to start, which were absolutely delicious! They are elevated and served with crab meat on top (I unfortunately don't eat crab but if you like crab meat, you must try this combination I am sure!) For the main course I ordered the catfish, my daughter ordered the best baked chicken in the world - and with that name...you know that is setting the bar high! When I tell you that chicken did not disappoint at all - the chicken falls off the bone, served in all the delicious juices and with mashed potatoes to give you all the feels and all the yummies! My catfish serving was abundant and cooked perfectly, well seasoned and delicious as well! Wr also ordered the salmon caesar salad and the mac and cheese to share. We literally just made "mmm!" noises and gestures the entire time and with each fork full of all of the goodness that was on our table! Chef Royce is THE BEST and came by to say hello to each table! She is just a joy, pure love and light and I am so happy to see a beautiful Black owned restaurant, with top tier bartenders, servers and wait staff serving up fantastic soul food in Lincoln Park! If you have not been to Soul Prime, make your way there!! You will be happy you did!! The entire experience is amazing- I didn't even talk about the music playlist! There were several moments when you'd hear the entire restaurant respond with joy to a song! It feels like home, community, and family at Soul Prime. They are a beautiful establishment and huge gift to the Chicago restaurant scene!! This is a "Prime" example of what makes our city great!

   My husband and I had the most AMAZING time. The entire staff was very kind, and the owner also greeted customers! Delicious food AND drinks! We will be back!

    I have never had such excellent customer service in my entire life. Everyone from the front staff to the back staff, and even the servers and kitchen staff were very attentive to me in my guest. There was not a question that was not an answered, and I felt very appreciated.
