I’ve been going to the Spanish Tavern for years and never had a bad meal. The wait staff are always excellent and attentive. The shrimp in garlic sauce is the best I ever had anywhere. Have it as an appetizer or entree but make sure you order it!

This place was remarkable! The owner and staff are friendly and knowledgeable, welcoming from start to finish. The food was delicious; we got the paella and lamb—don’t not get these! Will be coming back!

Excellent waiters food was great and no one rushed you out in fact we had to ask for check otherwise we might still be there

What a wonderful experience dining at this gem! Everything was absolutely perfect from food to service to ambience, and just a really nice holiday vibe with Christmas music playing in the background! We came in for a pre-concert dinner, and it was an excellent choice. I especially loved seafood paella, and shrimp in garlic sauce for an appetizer. Thank you so much for welcoming us and taking care of our family! We had a great time and will be back soon!

I had a fantastic dinner - as usual - at Spanish Tavern, on Dec. 13 before a performance at NJPAC. Spanish Tavern is one of my very favorite, go-to restaurants in The Ironbound. And so close and convenient to Newark Penn Station, NJPAC and the Prudential Center. I had the house salad and garlic shrimp appetizer to start. Salad was delicious and enough for two. The shrimp appetizer was absolutely delicious. I'll be returning to that. And for my main course, I had the paella marinera, almost excellent. Plentiful with shellfish ... clams, mussels, shrimp and scallops. And I love the rise. It was a delicious and excellent meal. And as usual, the service was AAA+ outstanding. Attentive and very professional. I'll be back to Spanish Tavern!! Peter C., West Trenton, NJ
