Square Grill House Restaurant & Piano Bar in the heart of Bath.

Open for breakfast, morning coffee, lunch and afternoon drinks. Throughout the day the terrace by Abbey Square and lounge area will be perfect to relax with a drink and nibbles. As the sun sets and we get ready for dinner to serve our signature dishes with the best local produce. Our resident Pianist and DJ will begin, and cocktails will flow.

The restaurant is beautiful with venetian walls, banquettes upholstered in leather and marble feel tables.

The restaurant looked very stylish so we were excited (8 for brunch on a girls weekend) Waiter was very average if you asked him anything he had to ask his manager food arrived to quickly obviously pre prepared and was cold my muffin was burnt black and had to be replaced Added 12 1/2 service to the bill which for a poorly cooked breakfast we reduced

Table not ready on time. Then given a vast wide table for only 5 of us which did not work for smaller group. The pianist was amazing but we had a speaker above us which was so loud we couldn’t hear each other and had to ask to lower several times. Starters were nice. Main Food arrived but had obviously been sitting a while when brought out as pasta gone stodgy - had to send back 2 dishes (should really have sent back all 5)(which they rectified but was disappointing for the price) there was a private event on which May have effected the night but for the money the food was mediocre.

After having visited this restaurant last year and having a great experience, it is a shame this year was not up to the same standards. Food was great, atmosphere was enjoyable, service was however was not up to standard. Throughout the meal, he was condescending, drinks were sat empty on the table and finally when thanked for the meal with eye contract made- completely blanked and subsequently would not return.

We met friends who we haven't seen for a while, they asked us to book a restaurant in Bath which we did,we chose this restaurant as it had good reviews, and I'm so pleased we did,it was absolutely brilliant

Wonderful experience couldn't believe it's nearly December and we were sat outside ok the heaters were on. The service and food were fantastic and a real buzz another the restaurant and for it's prime location in the centre of Bath really good value for money

The lady who took the order for food was very abrupt & unfriendly. We waited over an hour for our food & in the time that we were waiting another table arrived offered the specials menu, we were not. The food was good when it arrived, couple of the meals could have been warmer. Once table was cleared we realised that we had been in there for 2 hours and when we were eventually offered desserts and by the time she came to take the order, we declined as we weren’t prepared to wait another hour. We asked for the bill which appeared within seconds!! We came here for a meal a year ago & loved it hence our return but will not be coming again. I would like to add that as we were leaving we were met by 3 members of staff coming up the stairs with drinks & food and we all stood aside. Not one member of staff acknowledged or thanked us for doing that but the 2 guests following them showed common courtesy & thanked us. Is this a team of very unhappy staff? They certainly didn’t make us feel welcome here tonight .

Lady at front of house checked us in and she was very nice, showed us to our table...only issue, every time doors opened on right and left, the draught was awful. I think it was the manager who came charging over and 'robustly asked' have you booked ...as if we had just walked in and sat down. I explained I had booked and we were checked in and she just said 'oh' and walked off. Wine prices maybe a tad high but the food was excellent and apart from the manager, staff were all very nice.

We were sat upstairs, not shown where to go and given a table in an empty room and was in a corner, others did arrive but it still lacked atmosphere. The service was very hit and miss, weird little things but they soon added up. Food was average and the dessert was not what was described on the menu. Overall probably won’t return as there are so many other options in Bath. Shame as in a wonderful location.
