   I was looking forward to eating as this well known restaurant but left underwhelmed. We tried a lot of the dishes to give it a fair shake. Some worked but many just did not carry any flavor at all. What worked: the gem salad and the smoked trout dip with chips for dipping and the oyster with a veggie topping was OK. What didn’t work: most everything else. Pork belly, very dry and lacked flavor, scallion pancakes - zero flavor paired with small cubes of bacon and a seasoned butter that did not work, dumplings in ginger broth- broth bland and dumplings hard … Like the dough was not fully steamed or poorly made … I could go on and on. Service was excellent, though, so an extra star for that. Food alone it would have been two stars. $300 for three people with an extra $130 for a decent Pinot noir.

   Always a pleasure to eat at this great restaurant. The food is great, though not sure why they put hot spices in most of the dishes. I feel that it's not necessary and sometimes overkill the other ingredients. The service is really good but the music is very loud so it's hard sometimes to understand what they say. We were 5 at our table (they were very accommodating for our party to add one extra person). I had a hard time to hear what the people not directly next to me were saying. That's why I give it 4 vs 5 stars.

   This was often my go-to for client dinners, special occasions, or even just a casual night with friends. I often recommended this as one of my top five for when people asked for dinner recs. But tonight’s dinner was unfortunately one of the worst dining experiences in a very long time. We ordered at least 10 dishes and more than half were untouched. Either too salty, spices were overwhelming, or the meat was tough (pork, beef and chicken). I’ve never experienced an establishment going from a top five to a “I’ll never return”. Not sure if it was an off night or if there is a more permanent change somewhere in the kitchen. Our waiter was sympathetic and gracious when he noticed that most of our dishes went untouched, which we appreciated. Luckily, a friend in the food industry was able to snag us a last min res elsewhere so we could properly celebrate our bday dinner. Also dined at The Progress just a few nights ago with friends and the food there was also underwhelming. Disappointed!

   All was great except the fried quail which just tasted like batter with very little meat. Service and ambiance were great

    A truly unique experience, it fully deserves the high ratings. The only downside I did not feel I’m eating at an elegant and high end place even though it’s priced as on. I highly recommend my friends to try this
