I hosted a business recognition/Christmas dinner for my two top performers, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. The evening started off well, with our server being attentive as we ordered appetizers, but things quickly took a turn for the worse. After placing our appetizer order, the server disappeared, and despite multiple attempts to get her attention, we were left waiting without anyone coming back to take our drink order. I had to ask two other staff members to track her down. When our champagne glasses ran low, we had to ask for a refill—something that should have been proactively offered. Things only continued to go downhill from there. My glass was taken off the table before I had finished, which felt abrupt and inconsiderate. We also had to request that our appetizer plates be cleared, and when it came time to settle the bill, we had to ask for it, as no one had checked in on us to see if we were ready. Overall, the service was lackluster, and it overshadowed what should have been a celebratory evening. For a five star dinner, this level of service was unacceptable, and it left a sour note on the experience.

I’ve visited Steak 48 many times, but this was my first experience dining as a party of two. Unfortunately, the table they sat us at was extremely small. My lovely waiter and I joked about the 'tight quarters,' but once our food arrived, we literally had to play Tetris to fit everything on the table. We were so close to the next table that we could hear their entire conversation, and they could hear ours. It even got a bit awkward when they had to squeeze by to use the restroom—one wrong move, and they could have knocked over our cocktail glasses. For such an upscale spot, it was surprising to feel so cramped, especially when we ordered a seafood tower that took up quite a bit of space along with the sauces. As always, the food and service were fantastic, but it’s hard to fully enjoy a meal when you're so cramped. I ended up asking the waiter to bring out some of our dishes after we were done with one to at least enjoy the meal in a bit more comfort.

My favorite place to sit in the restaurant is the Dominic bar, Service wonderful, New York stirp cooked to perfection. Wonderful time had by all!

We were seated right away. Excellent service. Loved our waitress. So sweet. Gave us plenty of time to enjoy a relaxing dinner. We were the last ones to leave and they never tried to rush us. Food was superb.
