I’m a regular here, but I was super disappointed in the experience on New Year’s Eve. They were playing elevator music (super low energy vibes) as ambience and when I asked the manager (who is awesome) if it was going to change to get ready for the countdown, he said they can’t control it and then it’s a corporate requirement/they can’t adjust it. What a horrible experience that “corporate” doesn’t give the Restaurant the ability to change things like music to keep the crowd engaged in there on a New Year’s Eve celebration kind of night. Usually the experience is really great, but the place cleared out because the energy was so low. I was excited to ring in the new year here and we actually left before midnight because it was so dead. I definitely recommend this place during the weekend. The service sounds great. The bartenders are amazing - especially Steve and Brandon! But would highly not recommend this place for New Year’s Eve. Or at least I hope “corporate” would consider giving the managers discretion to you, adjust based off of wider audience and also for a special occasion. We ended up going to two other places down the street who had DJs that were reasonable volume levels, but gave it an ambience that made it feel celebratory. Hope these comments help make it better for next year!

As someone who grew up in Scottsdale, I’m no stranger to NYE celebrations at Mastro’s—think ice sculptures, tasteful décor, live music, and a who’s-who crowd. This year, I thought Steak 48 Beverly Hills might match that energy. Spoiler alert: it didn’t. The food? Fantastic, as always. The service? Our bartender/server was warm, knowledgeable, and top-notch. But the vibe? Dead. Flatlined. Unplugged. Let’s start with Scott, who left me a voicemail confirming my “full-service bar seats in the Dominick’s Room.” His delivery was so corny I half-expected to be boarding a Disneyland ride. But fine, I thought. If it’s busy enough for overflow seating, it must be packed. Nope. The place was half-empty, and our “overflow” room stayed deserted all night. It felt more like a storage closet than a NYE hotspot. Entertainment for the evening consisted of watching the manager count wine bottles in the cellar while complaining about being stuck there until 3 AM. Live music? Nada. Instead, we were treated to Christmas carols because nothing says “ring in the new year” like “Jingle Bells” in January. The energy was non-existent, and the hosts seemed just as lifeless—unable to think their way out of a paper bag or dare reevaluate seating despite open tables everywhere. This isn’t my first snooze-fest here; a visit months ago was equally dull. While the food and service shine, the Beverly Hills location seems incapable of creating an atmosphere worth returning for. Maybe they’re aiming for geriatric chic, but if I wanted that, I’d just stay home and watch the ball drop.

The ambiance and service were top-tier. The food was very good. I ordered Caesar salad, deviled eggs, all very good. The off-menu beignets were divine. The roasted brussels sprouts and mushrooms were also very good. The 12 ounce New York steak was cooked perfectly, juicy and very tender. As far as the the flavor… It wasn’t too flavorful, which caught me by surprise. I’ve definitely had better steaks at other steakhouses. Maybe the other steaks on the menu were more flavorful than the New York. Nonetheless, all the food was good and I’ll definitely go back.

Ambience is everything. Service was also excellent however, I was not impressed with the food. I was really looking forward to the spicy shrimp. They were really oily, and I was disappointed in the sides. Highlight of my evening was my fish. I can’t remember the name of the fish, but it wasn’t salmon, but that was really good.

We absolutely love Steak 48 and have dined here many times. The staff was amazing.....except for the Hostess station. I was so surprised by their lack of personalities. There were no smiles or Happy New Year, except from my family. We said hello, gave our name, said happy NY and were told in return we'd be seating in a few minutes. Of course in the big picture it was nothing but I thought you should know. Also, the man opening the door from the outside was FABULOUS. It was freezing outside yet he was so happy, engaging and a pleasure to see. Thanks for a fabulous New Years meal.

Food quality outstanding. Service was attentive without being overbearing. This is an excellent steakhouse that brings quality, service and ambiance together in a manner that is absent from the vast majority of so-called high end restaurants. I have dined here 3 times and have never been disappointed. Your dinner cost may be relatively high, but you will get your money's worth.

My wife and I had the most wonderful evening at stake 48 on New Year’s Eve. The restaurant is beautiful, The food was excellent, and the service was second to none. Our waiter Paul was very attentive and informative along with the manager Layla, who checked on us twice to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We had an amazing time.
