   My husband and I are in Ocala for a few days. We are staying in an amazing arena view room in the Equestrian Hotel. We made reservations at Stirrups for dinner. We were seated at a lovely window table for two. Great wine, and tequilas listed on the cocktail menu. Delicious choices on the bread selections. Had wonderful filet steak dinners, mashed potatoes and recommended creamed corn side. We had cappuccinos after dinner with complimentary tiny treats that were yummy and all we needed after our delicious meal. Jersey was our server, assisted by Dylan, they were great. Very friendly, attentive and helpful with menu suggestions. Even General manager Gia stopped by our table to chat. The hostesses and all the staff were very friendly.

   Overall excellent experience in a beautiful and elegant venue with some opportunities for improvement. We were immediately greeted by the hostess, escorted to our table and greeted by our server, who graciously explained the menu. The assistant server poured water and offered lemon and cucumber slices. They also brought a tray of five bread options and two butters to the table—all were delicious. We ordered cocktails (which were generous) and were also given complimentary sparkling wine for an occasion we were celebrating. We were offered an amuse bouche - fig drenched in gazpacho - which was the perfect palate opener. We ordered appetizers - trout (mousse) served with toast points and while it was very flavorful it was over salted. An iceberg lettuce salad was crisp and fresh and served decomposed with generous lardons and the perfect dressing. All three main courses were served simultaneously and the portions were generous especially the fried chicken. The fillet was Perfectly cooked Medium rare, the truffle pasta was al dente and flavorful but a bit heavy on the sauce. The sides of green beans and mashed potatoes were enjoyed though lacked the sophistication of the other dishes - one green bean was not cut and very stringy; the mashed potatoes could have been better seasoned and were underwhelming. The servers were very attentive and often refilled drinks as needed without request. For dessert we ordered the banana pudding - an inventive and delightful presentation but the banana pudding lacked a bit of flavor. The blueberry dusted chocolate mousse was unusual and grew on the palate with a few bites. Everyone we encountered was gracious and attentive. A few constructive criticisms: the assistant server cleaned the table crumbs with a napkin and appeared to wipe them onto the carpet—a proper crumbed and plate would have been more appropriate. The room itself is very large and lacked warmth. Overall, a wonderful dinner followed by by an exciting Grand Prix!

   Ashley our server was incredible! It was our first time dining there and she made wonderful suggestions and was on top of our every need! Will definitely be back and will request Ashley as our server.

   The service was outstanding. The ambiance was nice, clean, and comfortable. As for our order…..Toughest Venison Rib I have ever consumed. Order was overpriced, overcooked 3/4 of the way through, and poorly seasoned. Wife’s meal was acceptable according to her, but nothing was to up to par for the price range of this restaurant. Our wine selection was unavailable, so we chose a second, more expensive wine that we had experienced before. The sommelier was not altogether impressive, as he didn’t offer any substitutions when our first choice was out of stock, however he was pleasant and tended to our wine glasses effectively. Overall the service at this establishment is excellent, but the kitchen was not up to the task.

    My husband and I were celebrating a few things when we had dinner at Stirrups and it truly was a wonderful experience. Our server, Laura, was knowledgeable and upbeat; and the sommelier, Peter, was incredibly helpful in selecting a wine. The food was wonderful - a few menu items felt a tad overpriced, but the service and ambiance well made up for it. All the staff we interacted with were positive and friendly. The approachable feel of such a fine dining experience was truly special. We cannot wait to return!
