A contemporary take on the classic oyster bar, located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, near BAM, Barclay's, the Paramount, and Atlantic Terminal.

Strange Delight finds its influence in New Orleans and is also inspired by the rich history of oysters in New York. Our menu consists of regional seafood prepared in a variety of styles: Charbroiled Oysters and Shrimp Remoulade share the stage with classic seafood towers and Oysters Rockefeller. A rotating selection of larger plates features items such as Black Cod Almondine and Blackened Swordfish Belly.

To drink, Strange Delight updates old classics, serving both a Hurricane and Ramos Gin Fizz service for 2, alongside Martinis and Sazeracs. Our wine and beer lists feature our favorite American producers.

We offer 3 distinct types of reservations:
Regular: a table in our back dining room
Bar: seats at our back dining room bar
High-top: a higher table with bar stools in our front room with an open kitchen and oyster counter.

On the early side on a Thursday at the bar in the back it was pleasantly quiet. It was comfortable sitting at the bar. The bartender was excellent, the food delicious. It's pricey, but I think worth it for a special dinner. The grilled oysters were my favorite. The cocktails are expensive but high quality.

This is some of the best food I've had in a while. And the setting is really beautiful. Sleek, modern, clean, elegant. Service was great -- attentive but not intrusive. A+ for service. But the food, the food. So good.

I love the seafood selections but would appreciate more vegetable options from which to choose to balance the meal. More non-sandwich options would also be exciting.
