Suerte is a restaurant inspired by the people, cooking techniques, and flavors of Mexico. Nationally acclaimed Chef Fermin Nunez and his team pride themselves on the use of local ingredients from our beloved farmers to achieve something delicious and uniquely East Austin.

From the OpenTable editors: Originally from Torreon, Mexico, Eater Austin’s 2018 chef of the year and 2024 James Beard semifinalist Fermín Núñez celebrates his passion for handmade masa at Suerte. It’s the foundation for tacos, tostadas, and more stuffed with everything from duck carnitas to goat barbacoa and drizzled with a host of salsas. True to laidback Austin, it’s all served in a space with light woods and exposed brick walls alongside plenty of mezcal cocktails and natural wine.

    Serve was extremely accommodating especially when it came to allergies. Literally took the menu and marked every potential alternation and no-go. Our table was taken very well care of and I can definitely say the service was top tier. Food was amazing. Portions are family style but ordering the recommended 4 dishes was perfect for 3 people. Will be coming back for sure.

    Incredible meal! Ambiance was nice, upscale but not stuffy. Our server was very sweet, friendly and helpful. The food was amazing! Started a the guacamole and cauliflower hummus with the homemade chips which were unbelievable. Had the carne asado, the fish, huitlacoche quesadilla, mushroom tostada, sweet potatoes. Can’t even choose a favorite bc each thing was independently delicious. Great flavors- unique but not too unique! For dessert the chocotaco was fantastic. All around great meal!

    Our server Ana was helpful in guiding us through the menu to select perfect options for our group of four. The ceviche was out of this world fresh! The suadero tacos (what they are known for) are not to be missed! Great service as everything came out quickly and well timed! We will be back!

    We LOVE Suerte. We love it so much, we went directly from the airport. The hostess took our bags, storing them out of the way. So nice. The drinks are great, the service is great, the space is great, and the food is outstanding!!! We are already looking forward to our visit next spring break. Suerte is must in Austin.
