DO NOT BOOK A RESERVATION!! They would not honor the reservations for us nor 2 other patrons that had booked in advance. They told us we had to wait in the back of the line with walk-ins. They were very unapologetic and said Open Door does not communicate nor they honor reservations. Everyone was leaving bc they only have 5 tables and wait was ridiculous. Go to the Walnut Room for an amazing dining experience.

A nice vibe and the food was great. Stayed open until we were finished.

We got a reservation but we still had to wait 30’. We waited 30’ more for food and drinks. The service was very VERY slow. We pointed that out when we paid and asked for the receipt and the waiter said “yeah wait 30’ more”.

Me dieron mesa 30 min después de mi reservación , el servicio muy lento casi 1 hora de espera en lo que me sentaban y me tomaban el pedido , el pan no es rico y la comida sin sabor .

No one bother to do a reservation because they’ll just give your table away even if you’re early. No the person in front didn’t have a reservation because they asked if they had an available table for a four top and they said yes. No we were late we were ten mins early to our reservation. And no they did not have any blocked off tables for reservations otherwise ours would’ve been blocked off. I reserved this table three hours before we were going and they had no issues with that at least none that they stated. Detroits Sugary is a lot better than this one because they do uphold reservations.

Can I give it 0 stars to this business ? 0 for responsibility 0 for customer service 0 for cleanliness. I made my reservation two days in advance for a table for 8 people, I arrived on time on the day and time indicated. This business didn’t honor my reservation. When I arrived no one greeted us, so I approached an employee and told her I had a reservation at 3pm and she says: “at 3? We close at 4” and that was how they greeted my family and I, so I replied that is ok for us, thank you. She turns around and leaves. Then someone else comes out from inside the kitchen, they talk each other. We were being waiting for 10 minutes to be seated when there was an available table to sit at. To my surprise, they seat a family of 9 people who did not have a reservation, that is what they told the waiter in Spanish. There was no apology, no explanation, and no approximate wait time. After evaluating the awkward situation, seeing that cookies and pastry was on the counter didn't look fresh at all, that the floor was dirty and the atmosphere was not pleasant, I decided not to waste any more of my time and preferred to lose the $30 I paid for parking and leave the place. There are better places in Chicago guys so don't waste your time here.

The “reservations” weren’t real reservations. We got there and just had to stand in line and wait for an available table which ended up taking a really long time for our party of 5. That was the reason we made reservations. The food was decent.
