   Great food. Long wait for food from the kitchen. Server was amazing. I’m editing my review to say the wait for food was due to a full restaurant following a Lions game but the wait was worth it.

   First off, what fine dining establishment in a large city does not valet? Sullivan’s. How inconvenient as we had not planned the time to seek another parking option, let alone on the evening of a home Lions game. Just know, valet is only for Westin hotel guests. Personally, I wanted to just forget our reservation at Sullivan’s and eat closer to where we parked, but my husband wanted to honor our reservation. Bad choice. Once inside, we noticed the place was just about empty except for people sitting at the bar watching the Lions game, and those seated at 3 (out of about 15) tables. Even though we had a reservation we were offered either a seat at the bar if we wanted to see the tv or in their back room (where there was not one other soul.) When we asked why we could not sit at a table with the other 3 diners they said there were no servers in those areas. So we chose a bar seat (and then noted a few servers off to the side just hanging out with nothing much to do.) We had a very nice bartender (Marcus??) wait on us, and If I had had the nerve I would have asked the one other bartender who regularly came around to check his body odor at the door. His hygiene should have been noted by management, but I can’t say that we ever saw anyone that looked like a manager there. After we received our drinks and ordered the tuna app we were amazed to hear that at 5:30 pm they were out of bread so no bread basket. Wow. Fine dining? On the plus side, all the food was very good and our steak was cooked beautifully. Just one last pitfall for us, the bathroom in the restaurant has seen far better days. The walls were really filthy as were the accessories. No one is cleaning well by any means. We will never go back.

   We really wanted to love this dining experience as we have a Sullivan’s back in NC and it’s one of our favorite restaurants. However, from the minute we walked in it was clear the restaurant was not held to the same standard as the one we are used to. Our reservation was at 6:30 and we did not get seated until 6:50. Once we were finally seated, we asked to order drinks. However we didn’t have cocktail menus or a wine list. We ordered drinks and it took 10 minutes for the first round to come out, but then one of our drinks didn’t show up for 20 minutes. Everything was slow, which I understand happens sometimes on busy nights, but the servers didn’t come to the table repeatedly and often we were flagging servers down for refills on water and our drinks from the bar. The food itself was great, but the overall experience was not what you would expect from a Sullivan’s, especially not for the price point of the food. We were disappointed.

   Absolutely fantastic dinner experience at the bar. The bartenders were absolutely amazing!! We had a filet and the Chilean sea bass, and it was exceptional!

   Very nice place. The tomahawk trio had a lot of value for a great price and our server Vanessa was wonderful!

   We made a reservation for 7:30 PM, but when we arrived, we were informed that there would be a 45-minute wait. An hour later, we were finally seated. After waiting 15 minutes without anyone coming to our table—even to offer water—we decided to address the lack of service. Eventually, someone came to take our order, but we didn’t receive our meals until an hour after that. The environment was loud and chaotic, and I felt for the waitstaff, who seemed overwhelmed and unhappy. It was clear that the restaurant had either overbooked or taken on too many walk-ins. What is the point of making a reservation if they can't seat you at the scheduled time? While the food was good, the overall experience was disappointing.

   We arrived at 7:15 for a 7:30 reservation. We were not sat until 8:15. We didn’t receive our first course until 9:15. We finally left at 9:45 without ever receiving our meal. If it wasn’t Thanksgiving and we were from out of town, we would have left. Based on the faces of other diners (can you be a diner if you don’t have food?) we weren’t the only ones with this experience last night.

    My experience at Sullivan’s started a little shaky; we had a reservation for 6:30 but didn’t get seated until around 7:30. Also, my wife and I felt a little upset about not enforcing the dress code, when I made the reservation it said that you couldn’t wear sports clothes because we dressed up and just wanted that type of a fancy date. With all that said, the food was very good and the waitress was very kind. Even with the couple of shortcomings, I would still recommend Sullivan’s and I would return again.
