Sullivan’s elevated steakhouse menu pulses inspiration from a variety of global cuisines, truly offering something for everyone. Start your evening with a plate of filet mignon-stuffed cheesesteak egg rolls or a half-dozen oysters on the half-shell. Enjoy our fresh market greens, or sip our classic French onion soup. The menu sounds delicious, but the results are disappointing. A lot of luke warm dishes served instead of hot food. Slow service and no check ins to see how things are going. Overall just okay. Needs improvement with better execution from the kitchen and some service upgrades. There are better places for the same price points in Detroit.

The service was subpar. I don't think they had enough staff. Food was excellent.

This is an expensive steakhouse, and I ordered a filet mignon medium-rare and it came to me medium-well. The cut of meat was cheap and tired looking. I ordered a glass of wine with dinner, and it did not arrive until I was pretty much finished with dinner. I would expect much better at this price level. Absolutely not worth the value at all! Despite the disappointing food and timing, my server was attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, and kind.

Food was good. Staff was great. Good place to go if you have several hours to spend over dinner. Not good if you need to be at an event. Kitchen is very slow. Also, unless you can find a place to park on the street, the hotel will not valet your car and the closest parking lot will cost you $20 to park for 3 hours, $30 if you go over. So plan for that too.

We only ordered two entrees and they managed to screw both of them up. We ordered a medium steak and received a rare steak and the sea bass was so fishy we had to send it back. Also received a plate that still had food scraps on it from the previous use. Not the kind of experience you would expect given the price tag.

Jaquanda's service was impeccable. More than equal to the very best aged ribeye I have ever had. Even the welcome given by the hostess at 3:45pm on a Friday was equal to one of the very best calamari dishes anywhere. The the banana Old Fashioned with Angel's Envy! Not gonna find better anything anywhere than you will experience at Sullivan's Steakhouse, Detroit.

We were very disappointed with our experience at Sullivan’s. After seeing them on Instagram, we thought it would be the perfect place to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but unfortunately, it fell short of our expectations. What we loved: The live entertainment was fantastic, and the steaks were well-seasoned and cooked exactly to our requested temperature. The calamari and creamed spinach were also excellent. Where they fell short: The dress code was not enforced, with guests dressed casually, which took away from the fine dining atmosphere. They were out of the Tomahawk special, and we weren’t informed until we asked. The mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts lacked flavor. Service was extremely slow—while we were still waiting for appetizers, others who arrived after us were already being served their entrées. Our server did her best to make up for the experience, and we appreciated her efforts, but at no point did a manager check on us or even appear to be present on the floor. Overall, it was a mediocre experience at an upscale price. Additionally, there was no valet parking for restaurant guests, and the hotel charged $45 for non-guests. We opted to park across the street at the Indigo Hotel for $20, which was a more reasonable option. Would we return? Probably not, unless significant improvements are made.
