Did you know that using the word curry to generally refer to sauced preparations of South Asian cuisine was a British colonial invention? The word curry did not exist in South Asia. This winter, we’re bringing you a six course tasting menu that showcases sauced preparations with their original names and constructions. Join us as we decolonize our language and reclaim South Asian cuisine. Optional wine/cocktail pairing available. Not available same day. Must be booked 24 hours in advance. We offer 2 seatings at 5 pm and 7 pm.

This was one of the biggest cullinary let downs I have had. Before visiting, I was very excited because of the ideals and food philosophy listed on Sultan's site. Fair wages, decolonizing food, and tapas style south asian cusine are things that are not very common in the restaurant industry. We tried 4 entrees, the garlic naan, and the kashmiri chai. Every single one of the entrees were underwhelming. The food lacked the flavor that is critical for Pakistani and Indian cusine. 1. The only flavor that we could taste in the chicken pulao was an unbearable amount of salt. [Side note- the chicken was cooked beautifully, if only they could improve the flavor profile]. 2. The shrimp had no flavor at all. Maybe they should have used some of the salt from the pulao in the shrimp. 3. The daal was one of the better dishes we had and it was still extremely subpar. 4. The potato dish also lacked any sort of a spice profile. 5. The naan did seem to be authentic. Overall, I would visit this place another time when their menu rotates because I had such high hopes for this restaurant and I want to see it succeed. But this might involve either adding on another chef or providing the current chef with additional training on south asian cooking. If you are familiar with south asian cusine you are looking to get disappointed with the current menu. I guess in a way they did decolonize Pakistani and Indian cusine since the spices that the British mainly invaded us for were no where to be found in the food. A point to highlight was the staff and ambience. The staff are extremely friendly, maybe it is the fair wage they are paid, more restaurants should look into this model. The ambience was spectacular, it was modern and had a unique vibe when compared to most south asian restaurants in the area.

It was our first time dining at the restaurant & were very impressed. The staff were all courteous, enjoying themselves & efficient. We ordered the garlic Naan with dipping sauce, kaddu shahi, timitar chaat, and nihari beef. The small plates were served quickly & with a smile. The Chai & the featured pumpkin bread dessert were an excellent ending. We will happily return.

Great food, little wait and great service. Lights and music could come down a touch to make the ambience a little better.

Had an excellent meal, the salmon and corn stood out as exceptional dishes. Any of the craft cocktails we tried were a delight. Would recommend 5-6 dishes with 2 Naan for a solid meal.

I’m so sad I haven’t tried this restaurant sooner. We opted for the tasting menu which did a great job of mixing local Wisconsin ingredients with Pakistani flavors to create 7 amazing elevated dishes. Each one was packed with so much flavor. The a la carte menu looked amazing too.
