The Sunset tea is nice, but today’s food was not quite up to the price tag: all of the bread and baked goods were dry. When you compare this tea to that of the Brown Palace, the Sunset is more expensive, they do not give each person their own pot of tea, and they only provide one serving of food. For the money, The Brown Palace’s tea is a better value ( although you do have to pay for parking). I’d love to see the Sunset adjust to provide comparable services. It’s a beautiful venue and a lovely option for those of us who like to stay local.

Since we’re new to the area, I’ve never been to the Sunset Lounge for cocktails but am planning on doing so in the future, it’s a lovely view and perfect setup for that. However, Sunday high tea was a bit disappointing. It was a long line to get in to be seated, the cocktail tables were awkwardly low and small, the talented piano player was entirely too loud for the space/setting (we were seated right next to it and had to shout or squeeze next to each other to be heard), the service was pleasant and professional but terribly inefficient (our cups were empty more often than full because they had to ask what we wanted and refill one cup at a time) all of which came in at a pretty steep price point. This could be fantastic with just a few tweaks: staggered reservation times, set up some room service carts and leave teapots at each table, work with local bakeries and food vendors to increase the quality and variety of the food (it was decent but not fantastic). Right now, though, it’s just meh. EDIT: I also included in my reservation that this was a birthday celebration. It would’ve been a nice touch to at least have had the server acknowledge this, or better yet do something a little extra- a mini cake or cupcake, a mini gift bag, even a drink coupon for another visit, etc. Not necessary, but would’ve made a lasting impression.

We had an excellent waiter and we enjoyed the lovely piano music during the tea.

The small tray of food we received for four people included 6 tea finger sandwiches, three parfait things and 6 scones. Food was dry and tasteless. They had three tea selections and only one herbal (we were there for a baby shower). Tea was delicious, too bad we kept having to hunt down the servers for refills and milk and sugar. They would not leave our own pot. If you like an overview of just college town then you’ll love it. Very dissatisfied with the overall event given the price. Not worth it in my opinion. Best to do your own high tea at home.

We had so many mixed feelings about this experience. We have down afternoon tea all over the world and we’re looking forward to this for over a month. The four of us had to share a tray of very small but creative food options. We left in search of more food. They do not leave the pot of tea at your table but walk around and refill, tea at first was not steeped enough nor hot or even warm. Only two people working with a full room so it took sometime to get a tea refill. The cocktails were great and the staff was super nice and sweet; just felt bad that they had to work so hard. It’s silly but the chairs and couches are uncomfortable for tea and eating. The views were beautiful. It just came down to $55 a person for cold tea and one mouthful of food, I would say not worth the price.

Extremely disappointed the more we think about it! $55 per person for that mediocre tea tray…27 pieces with no high-end items whatsoever. We thought there had to be a mistake. It was absurd to charge that for three of us to share one tray. Mother’s Day event was a flop.

Wonderful atmosphere and views, it's all about the ambience. The tea selection was a little weak and didn't offer milk/sugar options. Food was excellent but heavy on the sweet side for my tastes, would like more savory and did not offer to box up remaining treats.
