Great Afternoon Tea experience at the Swan. Chose the Cowboy Afternoon Tea which had a really good mix of savoury and sweet treats. Fresh Fish and Chips, tasty chicken treats and more. Finished off by a delicious Olive and Cheese Scone and the perfect size Bakewell Tart. Particularly good choice as filling enough to cover a lunch or a dinner. Location has to be one of the best in London overlooking the river and beyond to St Paul's Cathedral. Beautiful interior and crockery/cutlery. Exceptional English sparking wines available at very reasonable prices, a wonderful selection of Gin's and very good quality coffee and tea. Warm and friendly service. Cannot fault and will definitely return.

I love eating at the Swan restaurant so booked for high tea today on their top floor for the first time. It was so disappointing. The service was exceptionally slow. And the food was nothing special for £39. Some parts of the food order never came. Other customers were experiencing the same. They took off the service charge and discounted the bill which was appreciated however I will be sticking to the main restaurant in future. Great views.

Ordered two gluten-free and two classic afternoon teas which were v slow to arrive. The gf sandwiches were served with tasteless vegan fillings (tofu, carrots & red pepper), not the advertised smoked salmon, egg mayonnaise & roast beef. There was no tomato and mozzarella tartlet despite this also being advertised on the gf menu. When I requested smoked salmon sandwiches I was told they had run out and offered a repeat selection of vegan sandwiches. The waiter (presumably relaying info from the kitchen) insisted this included roast beef; I had to cut a sandwich open in front of him to prove it was actually red pepper. At this point he admitted that they had run out of regular gf sandwiches and we were told we would not be charged. The sweet selection was as advertised (though gf scones were more like biscuits) and the setting is a lovely room overlooking the river. Atmosphere at our table somewhat spoilt by the loud noise of the hand drier in the adjacent toilet. All in all a thoroughly disappointing experience which at least cost us half of the intended price (though, shockingly, a hefty tip was still automatically added to the bill). Will not be returning.

A nice restaurant with good food (Sunday lunch beef was very tasty). Excellent, efficient and attentive staff. Maybe some drinkable wines (we had red) at more sensible prices would improve our experience (please). Still, we live in hope!

Fantastic! Afternoon tea was a memorable experience for my mum’s 80th birthday. Staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The food was stunning and extra sandwiches/tea/coffee were replenished freely. We were not hurried at all and my mum was made to feel extra special when the staff brought over a ‘Happy Birthday’ plate with fruit/cake! Lovely views over the Thames of St. Paul’s and a vibrant atmosphere. Can’t recommend highly enough.

A great spot on the River for lunch, afternoon tea or dinner. We were a small group of friends for lunch and were fortunate to be seated at a window table. We chose the set menu which at £32.95 for 3 courses represents good value. There was a good range of drinks, all reasonably priced although you could certainly push the boat out if it was a special occasion as there were plenty of wines in the upper price range too. Service was friendly and efficient. The courses we had were all well presented and delicious. Standouts being the venison stew and the lemon tart. I last ate there many years ago and I’m not sure why it took so long for me to return, but if you’re in the area and in need of a good lunch then I’d certainly recommend booking here.
