The rules here are strict and accommodation was challenging. Booked a party of 12 months in advance and they were resistant to the whole party sitting together in 1 table. Pushing two tables together was pulling teeth. Did not refill tea pots unless asked, which was challenging as they didn’t visit the tables often. While there are gluten and dairy free options available with advanced requested, they were limited and not as tasty. One of my sandwiches was a PBJ… and no gluten free scone option. Bread was not fresh or even toasted. For $36 (before a forced automatic tip…) I got 3 mini sandwiches and one macaron. Not even presented on a litter tier, just a mini plate. While the atmosphere was lovely, this was a poor value with lacking accommodations and I will not be returning.

I’d like to address your review with full transparency. Your reservation was made on January 10th, 2025. Upon booking, you agreed to our cancellation policies, all outlined on our website. When one guest cancelled without notice, you insisted on not being charged. Their meal was prepared and served, and our team still made an exception for you. Our menu, pricing, and dietary options are available to review before booking. Allergen friendly menus were served on separate plates to reduce cross contamination, and all 3 guests with allergies were gifted an additional macaron, receiving two each, not one. My team remained attentive despite the demands made upon arrival and the way they were spoken to. While we welcome feedback, we stand by our staff, policies, and the service we provide.

This is my first time here and we had a lovely experience. The pastries, food, and tea were delicious. The services starts with a breakfast blend and then had a flavorful Earl Grey, both caffeinated, though it was odd there wasn’t a decaf option (or any options for that matter). They offer a gluten-free (GF) option, and all desserts were GF, which was great. However, the second tier of the tower had scones (these were not GF), and since my mom and I both ordered the GF service, they ended up not putting anything for us on that second tier. Since we paid the same price as others, it felt a bit off. Overall, the vibe was fantastic, and everything else was wonderful, but a few adjustments for dietary restrictions & those who prefer to not have caffeine would make it a perfect experience.

Thank you for visiting and for sharing your experience! I’m so glad you enjoyed your afternoon with us. I would love to clarify any concerns regarding our gluten free menu. We provide full transparency with detailed allergen friendly menus and pricing to review on our website prior to booking. In addition to English Breakfast and Earl Grey, we offer decaf and herbal tea included in the prix fixe price. We always appreciate when guests share their preferences during their visit so we can make their experience as enjoyable as possible! If you’d like to join us again, you’re welcome to note any tea preferences in the reservation notes. Thank you again for your feedback!

I took my wife for our anniversary and it was an absolute homerun. We had never been to a teahouse like this before and while we had an idea of what to expect we were truly blown away by the experience. The food was fresh, well prepared and flavorful. The tea selections were great and very much enjoyed by a non tea drinker (me). And lastly, the ambience and decor were spot on, my wife was thrilled and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. The space is intimate and the seating is comfortable but close so there is an energetic vibe with a lot of conversations filling the air. This is a vibrant place and not some stodgy up tight venue. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon with friends. Everything was so pretty and elegant! Very cozy, quiet atmosphere. The food was so delicious and fresh (the scones were still warm out of the oven). We all thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back!

Adorable place a bit pricey $36 a person and the amount is not much. However they are no longer at 25 w main st. They relocated to 7th street in a multiple complex building. They should update this information, we walked all over trying to find this place. But overall it was a nice experience very delicious bites.

Though I was on time for my reservation (barely!), my friend who was meeting me there got stuck in traffic and then got lost because Sweet Marie’s address changed recently… but was not updated on any map system yet. This also tripped me up and I wandered a bit before I found the right place. We had both never been here so I didn’t have any idea locations changed. I waited for her arrive before ordering tea, since I was not sure what she would want. I guess we were taking too long and I was brought out a pot of English breakfast and our scones and wasn’t asked what I wanted. Our reservation was at 10 and she got there closer to 10:25 due to traffic and the location mix up. We both felt like that was a little weird they brought over tea we didn’t order but we had the tea/scones and caught up. We also felt like they were rushing us out, and I knew they had another service coming in at noon but it was barely 11:15 and we were being watched like we needed to go. I don’t remember reading anywhere we had an hour only, and we would have ordered another pot (if it was allowed?) or if we weren’t being made to feel like we needed to leave. I had a nice time catching up with a friend I don’t get to see often, but not sure if I’ll come back if they’re going to rush service like that again.

Thank you for your feedback and for visiting us! We sincerely apologize for the location confusion. Our address was updated on all platforms prior to the new location’s opening, and OpenTable recently reverted back to our old address without our knowledge. We reached out to correct the error as soon as we were made aware. Regarding your visit, our goal is always to provide a welcoming and enjoyable experience, we never want our guests to feel rushed. We appreciate your perspective, and will be addressing your feedback at our next team meeting. Thank you again for visiting, and we hope you’ll consider trying us again!

Spent a lovely afternoon with 3 friends at Sweet Marie's. The only negative was our table was opposite the door. It was a stormy day and it was rather drafty.
