The food was fabulous, very well and thoughtfully prepared overall. They added a couple of low country items to the menu. I had the oysters Rockefeller version of this that was delicious. The short rib with crispy shaved Brussels sprouts is a must. Their prices are not unreasonable for the quality of the food and you really can’t even find this quality in the area otherwise. The service was good just a little on the slow side, slower than expected. We had pre dinner cocktails and the server did not come back around to ask if we wanted any drinks or wine with dinner. I finally got my wine with dessert. Fortunately, it paired well! I love the ambiance in the original dining room with the piano player, but this is the second time in a row that we were seated in the front room that was previously a general store. The ambiance is not the same there. It was very chilly with big fans overhead that were actually blowing the hanging light fixtures and the battery powered lights on the table kept going out. I will definitely go again, though, as the cuisine continues to be worth it and a true treat!

This is a gem, food was amazing. Service was amazing. We live about 40 min from Table 1837 but this place will become a regular treat for us. The staff were very friendly and attentive to our table. We stayed the night in the hotel, had dinner and we stayed around the next day to have lunch. Lunch was also amazing

It was not busy what so ever and still took over an hour to get our food which was not good what so ever. My short rib was just average. When you charge as much as you do for food and during our meal my wife and I both agree we should have just went to Texas Road House you know it’s not worth it.

We decided to celebrate Valentine's Day on Thursday instead of on the actual day and spend the weekend at home with family and friends. This is our 4th time at Table 1837 as always the service is excellent and the food is always very good if not outstanding. My only concern with the restaurant is the parking. On a cold windy winter night I ended up a few blocks away from the establishment. In the summer it isn't as much of a concern although I am never certain of where it is safe to park and not find my car has been towed. In the winter for my wife it is even a larger concern. Overall the dinning experience is excellent , which includes the staff.

Everything was almost perfect. The side of Brussel sprouts were just leaves and not sprouts, it tasted good but was a little odd, and the Scampi was a little strong on the lemon and overpowered the dish. Nothing horribly wrong but nothing is ever perfect. We will most certainly come back.

It’s a great restaurant with the best atmosphere around. You can bring a bottle of wine with no corking fee.
