   Food was excellent. We had the shrimp and grits special, which was much more than the usual s&g dish and included fish and mussels along with the shrimp, and we had the salmon. The thing that stood out for me was how well the dishes were flavored, with both of them being rich but not overly so with a host of flavors that harmonized really well. No one thing overpowered the other flavors in the dish. We were there during peak dining time and it was very busy and noisy (we're in our 60s so our perception of noise is probably more sensitive than it used to be). It was also challenging to maneuver my partner's wheelchair through the crowd to our table. Aisles are narrow enough to make that difficult, requiring several patrons to get up and move their chairs so we could pass. The menu's main courses leaned fairly heavily toward red meat dishes, but we very much enjoyed the seafood options offered. All in all it was an enjoyable experience with excellently flavored substantial dishes and good service.

   Very friendly and helpful staff. They made a really good Gin and Tonic for my wife. The food was quite good. Was a little more expensive than we would have expected, but that may be more of a sign of the times.

   We took our granddaughter, a doctoral student at UNC, for dinner during our visit from NYC. We ordered appetizers, drinks, and the steak supper for 2. It was not only a great deal, it was generous enough that she had leftovers (a wonderful thing for penny pinching grad students). The short rib - on the bone - was so succulent and the sides delicious. Our waiter was careful to separate anything containing dairy and very attentive. Overall, it was a perfect dinner.

   It was our first time going to Tandem. We placed our order and the waiter did not listen well and ordered the wrong items and did not check back with us to confirm our order after stating the benedicts were all sold out during brunch service but he would check and advise. We were expecting confirmation from him on the sold out items. He took what we mentioned as our possible order and submitted it. The food came to the table and one order was completely wrong, the other was an option my husband was entertaining but he was waiting for confirmation on the sold out items. We are patient people so my husband ate his and mine was corrected quickly. Even though there was a mix up in our order we will give this venue another chance. I think the waiter needs a little more focus on attention to detail. The food served to us was delicious and atmosphere was nice. Worth a try and a repeat.

   I forget sometimes just how good Tandem is. It is nice to be able to sit on the patio since the noise level is so much more peaceful than inside. Highly recommend

   One of my wife’s and my favorite date night spots. Atmosphere is cozy , service is always good and food is great. We love the cheese platter paired with one of their salads for appetizer, and last night their special was outstanding to provide a change of pace from their staples which are always a solid choice!

   Had dinner for two at 6:30. Restaurant started to get very busy by 7:00. Service was slow. Wait staff appeared to work together to serve but we waited close to 25-30 minutes for my meal.
