Food very good, selection of game meats and a varied menu,which is unique in Beechworth. Serving staff were attentive and efficient, friendly and polite.

The hotel is a traditional one with well cooked food. The menu could do with more seafood. It is quite meat oriented.

Very tasty food. Good selection of wines. Old fashioned pub food sizes. Nice quiet ambience. Will return in winter when the log fires are going.

Came down from Melbourne for the weekend. Great atmosphere. Food was great. Simple and effective.

We were a large party on a very busy day. The food came out super quick, looked amazing and was delicious. Heaps of awesome local ingredients on the menu and behind the bar. The staff are great, we had an fantastic time.

The food is always great and I love the old atmosphere in the whole building. You’ll always find some live music here too- from full heavy bands to bluegrass and country duos. Having a beer on the top verandah is a great way to watch the town.

Great menu and delicious food, fantastic service and very importantly, very dog friendly! Our dogs even scored some porterhouse steak courtesy of the hotel! Highly recommended

A lovely evening with very good food served quicker than expected. Service prompt, very friendly and knowledgeable re wine choices and dishes. We found the noise levels from the band in the bar a bit too loud but when the door was closed it was fine for us Definitely return as a regular venue

Had a lovely dinner at Tanswell’s - the staff are always so nice and the food is tasty. My number one dining choice in Beechworth.
