Tanta is dedicated to sharing the flavors and culture of Peru with Chicago, serving authentic Peruvian dishes and beverages in an approachable, fun and casual downtown setting. We provide service that is casual yet knowledgeable, genuine and attentive, utilizing locally sourced products and vendors that are sensitive to sustainable farming and fishing.

Tanta has two Chef’s Tables that each seat up to 10 people. These tables are located in our main dining room in between our open kitchen and cebiche bar which allows you and your guests to experience our chefs creating Peruvian cuisine while you dine.

The menu, created by Acurio and Tanta Chicago Chefs Jesus Delgado and Jose Cubas, takes diners on a voyage through Peru via its food. From the Pacific Ocean, through the Andes, to the desert, to the Amazon, Tanta celebrates the diverse landscape and ethnicities that make up Peru’s culture.

    Was very expensive for the experience. Food was brought to our table out of order off the menu. No real walking through what the dishes were or the wine we were tasting. They also abruptly mixed one wine I was still drinking with the next wine of the tasting menu. Didn’t seem like they should be doing 4 course dinners. Good memory for us though on what not to pick for a romantic dinner! Tanta is great normally. I recommend it a lot. Just avoid Tanta for any set menus or events.

    Good food, really small portions, ambiance was not there at all especially for Valentine’s Day. It was too bright. Tables were squished together way too close. Good value for Valentine’s Day but wish the menu had some variety.

    First time but based upon a recommendation. Food, outstanding. Service, outstanding. Ambience, excellent! There was not a bite we tried that was not flavorful, filling and just well done. I cant wait to come back.

    We went during Chicago Restaurant week and we were not disappointed! The 4 course menu was stunning The cebiche was fabulous and so fresh The octopus, one of my favourite tings, was also so good and fresh and the portions were very good The pork adobo was the icing on the cake. The portion was giant and I could not finish it. We will for sure be going back at some point to try a la carte

    I didn’t know that this is a MasterChef Gaston Accquio restaurant! What a treat! The food, service, all directed by a lovely and knowledgeable Manager was spectacular! I can’t wait to go there again!-Alexander Julian

    Enjoyed brunch at Tanta. Ceviche was outstanding as was the cocktails. The service is friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is fun. I have gone to Tanta several times before, and I intend to return.

    Staff was amazing. First time there, it was my wife’s birthday. Would visit again. Highly recommend their ceviche’s. They’re delicious.

    Tanta delivered an incredible experience! Service was top-notch—attentive, fast, and welcoming. Our pisco sour and water arrived in minutes, and shortly after appetizers. The food was just as delicious we both had the lomo salteado. Only suggestion: dim the lighting for a better ambiance. Definitely coming back when in town.
