   First off, I would like to say that our server Fran was not only very attentive, but she was very thorough describing the food. She was also very patient with us individually to help us make our selections. We started with the Empanada De Tamalito which were outstanding. The entrée choices were Churrasco Escabechado, the steak was very tender much to my liking and the plantains really outstanding. We ordered four servings of Lomo Saltado and boy am I telling you my friends swore this was the best meal they have ever had. I can’t wait to eat my leftovers, I wanted so bad to eat the rest when I returned home but I was stuffed. Last but not least the dessert was chart topping, I don’t remember the name but ice cream was served with it. It is a must have. Overall for my friends it was their first experience at a Peruvian restaurant and they scored it a 10.

   Have been here many times, always like it. Food is good, many choices, service was good, no issues. However, I absolutely hate when you are told the minute you walk in that you have to leave in 2 hrs. If management reads it - please stop this annoying practice. My bill is usually $350-450 and never spend more than 2 hrs but have some respect for your customers who pay your bills. Do not insult your old good customers.

   The food is outstanding and worth the price. But I was surprised by the somewhat slack service to be honest, especially when it came time to pay and our server was nowhere to be seen. I always feel uncomfortable having to ask repeatedly for something at restaurants. Our reservation was for 5:30, so the restaurant wasn't crowded yet. There seemed to be plenty of attentive servers throughout the restaurant, but our server wasn't one of them. Our bill and credit card were on the table when our server came to see if we wanted coffee or dessert, and when we told her we didn't, she left without taking the bill and payment, and we never saw her again. I ended up having another server take care of the payment for us. That was truly unexpected given how positive reviews have been for Tanta. All that being said, we absolutely loved the following foods: Maracuya, Clasico Cebiche, Pollo skewers, Empanada de Pollo, and Arroz con Chanchito. I wouldn't go again, to be honest, but perhaps there's a Peruvian restaurant in Chicago with better service that I can find.

   Excellent service and food. Loved the burrata appetizer, the chicken empanada and the Ny strip steak. Would definitely return.

   Spoiled with a free birthday dessert for my partner. Always delicious. Try and sit upstairs if you can, ambiance is far superior to downstairs

    Lomo Saltado was served with either a low quality steak or it was not cooked properly. The Steak is hard and chewy. Terribly cooked for two dishes. The Heart Anticucho is extremely spicy and hard/chewy. Causa de pollo was extremely salty. Ceviche also spicy it was difficult to eat. The Chicha Morada taste more like a lemonade than Chicha. Theirs Not enough PERUVIAN dishes to choose from. I had faith this restaurant from GASTON ACURIO will be another Delicious experience just like JARANA. The cook and Menu selection is the reason I will 100% Not recommend this “Peruvian” Restaurant to anyone wanting to taste our delicious cuisine. This is Not Peruvian and possibly is not cooked by one either.
