Welcome to Allston’s Best Restaurant & Bar!

Tavern in the Square Allston is the neighborhood spot for college students, locals, and working professionals. We’re the place to be all semester long with DJs every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Keep the party going on Sunday with our awesome brunch. Need a break from the office? Try us out for lunch! On game day, post up with us to catch all the action of your favorite teams on our 58 TV's! Bring the family for parents weekend, our menu has something to please everyone, and Homecoming weekend Tavern is the place to catch up and reminisce. The food and service were both amazing. We were not big fans of the seats at our table - it felt a bit like we were going to slide off of them.

Took over an hour to get food. When it came out it was cold. Only half the table got food at first and took another 15 minutes for 2 plates. Restaurant was not crowded. Server only came over a couple of times. The table behind us got their food quickly. Very disappointing.

This was our first time to this location. As a party of 5 We spent 2 plus hours before going to a concert across the street. When we arrived place was pretty empty. Service was slow. Appetizers were all really good. Two of us had entrees also very good. Service was just slow and spotty at best. Server was nice but clearly new or just not attentive.

Surprised to get a short notice reservation for a party of 6 on a Saturday night but I think this time was in a lull between early and later crowd but glad we did. Service drinks and food were good for a chain. One weird thing is that the online/qr menu has choices which are not actually available any longer. Parking can be an issue

The food was pretty good overall The fried pickles were outstanding. I had the Genreal Tso's chicken It was good. The rice was a little dry but was still good. Service was excellent. Will definitely be back.

The food and service were good but prices outrageous. I ordered an espresso martini that came in a tiny glass, not full for $18. And it wasn't even good! On a positive note, the broccoli, cauli, pickle and corn flake chicken tenders were all really good and the mac and cheese with bacon was amazing. Prices just too high for the value.

We went to the Tavern Allston on a Sunday evening during the first week of the NFL season. Great place to see a variety of games on many televisions. The food was very good with a great selection of pub/tavern food. The service was good despite the larger crowd. My only complaint was the volume of the speakers which were deafening. You had to yell to speak to the person sitting across from you in the same booth! I gently complained to no avail. I would definitely go back as the overall experience was very good.

Was thoroughly disappointed in our experience at Tavern in the Square. We had a reservation for a party of 6 and we immediately noticed the lack of service when we had to wait at least 10 minutes after being seated to have a server come over with water and ask for drink orders. The lack of attention the staff paid to their customers was the worst I’ve seen, and they did not come back to ask how the food was or if we needed refills (we did on everything). The restaurant was also not very busy so there was no reason to have the delayed service. Almost all the food orders were incorrect in some way and arrived cold. This is also the first time in my life I’ve sent anything back and it was a diet coke that was ENTIRELY flat and tasted mostly like water. The replacement beverage was no better and it’s safe to say we won’t be going back.

Came to watch the bruins game. Food was great, ambience was great. They switch a few tvs for us so we could better watch the game.
