The menu was extremely limited and the food was disappointing. For example: Huevos rancheros should be served with 2 eggs not 1. Each dish served to my party of 3 was dry and bare bones. The overall quality of the food was far below what I would expect for the venue and price point.

This is my second visit to Abernethy’s with Chef Pyet I was there for brunch on Saturday. I ordered the guacamole to start. It was perfectly seasoned with crispy tortilla chips. For my entree I ordered huevos rancheros. It was a perfect meal. The presentation is very appealing. I definitely enjoyed my meal and hope to return again. It was a little cool so I had inside seating but on a warm day the outside seating is very pleasant.

Food tasted great but service was horrible! One of our four got their meal after the other three were finished.

Innovative and delicious food! We had both vegetarians and non-vegetarians in our party, and everyone found something to love. Our meal was brunch before a matinee at the Ahmandson: the timing worked well, but I'm glad we had made a reservation.

We felt the food looked and tasted like it was a pre prepared airplane meal. The desserts tasted dry and stale. Huge disappointment.

Service was super slow and servers were actually RUNNING through the restaurant. Not a relaxing dinner at all. The food was mediocre all around. I’ve had good food there before but this visit was just sad. Plus the added on a mandatory tip.

The worst food we ever been served anywhere! What a joke and complete rip off Bison torta $22 was inedible. Came wrapped up in tinfoil. Probably made off site somewhere. Nasty tasting as one could imagine. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros. $26 Two small round pieces of stale tortillas with a burned egg and some black beans. This stuff thrown in a small bowl! My 11 year old can cook better than who ever claims to be a chef at this place. Glorified pop up with horrible food. I wouldn’t give it any star but one is the lowest you show.

Abernethy’s is the perfect place to go before the theatre. Not only is it convenient, it happens to be a great restaurant with delicious food.

I love the concept of a restaurant with rotating chefs on the mall of LA’s biggest performing arts plaza. Convenient, interesting, social. Drive in from work, park, walk the venue, eat, laugh, and see a show. All in one spot. An oasis in the urban sprawl.
