Delicious Burmese in Hayes Valley. The tea leaf salad, the platha, the eggplant, the fried fried rice, and the branzino was spectacular. I also appreciate the mocktails on the menu.

Great food. The three of us ordered so many dishes and we all were very impressed by them.

The food was good: nice tea leaf salad and a naan type bread with a curry sauce.

This i a sleek sophisticated space close to the Opera House and Symphony to explore all kinds of lucious Burmese tastes. From tea leaf salad to chicken curry, it was a gastronomic feast. A fabulous addition to Civic Center/Hayes Valley in San Francisco. Can't wait for the March ballet to try more items on the menu. Special thanks to the management for honoring our early reservation when we were delayed by traffic.

It's rare to love every dish in a meal, but we did! The tea leaf salad was the best we'd had. The spring rolls were spicy but excellent. The whole branzino was artfully presented, surprisingly chewy (in a good way) and delicious with many sauces and frisee lettuce on top. The thick, warm garlic noodles were a nice complement. The garlic Japanese eggplant was as good or better than at my favorite Chinese restaurant but fresher. For all the garlic in these dishes, it was never overpowering; instead, nicely balanced with other ingredients offering tang, crunch, heat, and coolness, making for a great flavor with no heavy garlic aftertaste.

We return to Teakwood again and again because of the quality of food and the proximity to the Davies Symphony Hall. It was a busy evening and our waiter did not pay too much attention to us after food was delivered. Tables were small and crowded. When we’re ready to pay, I had to get up to find somebody. It is a more comfortable experience if you can get a booth, with 3 or more guests. Otherwise, just go for the food, not the ambience or service.
