Deli-cafe by day, elegant-restaurant by night. Tesoro Gastronomia is a testament to the belief that a dining experience need not be fussy to be fantastic.

The seasonal menu pays homage to our Italian roots, presented in a modern context, we explore Italian cuisine's greatest hits whilst taking advantage of the beauty and bounty of seasonal local ingredients.

Tesoro exists to share our passion for the beauty and simplicity of Italian cuisine, and 100% of profits are either donated to local charities or used to sponsor the arts & events in the local community. As a collective, we recognise that our parents & grandparents sacrificed to give our generation the gifts of opportunity & prosperity; so Tesoro was created in their honour to pay their legacy forward.

    Had to wait for long to get our food. I would’ve thought the drinks order was straight forward but even that took forever to arrive. I had to go to the counter to enquire what’s causing the delay. The food wasn’t value for money either. The sausage pinsa probably had half a sausage sprinkled on the lot. Overall, a very underwhelming experience. Also, had to check the bill otherwise would’ve been charged $30 extra.

    I was disappointed there wasn’t a wine list to know how much it was going to cost us. The bill seemed to high and they didn’t give me a printed copy of the bill. We wanted to order more food and the serving staff didn’t come back and ask us. It was the all you can eat pizza and pasta offering.

    Fantastic service from waitress and great food eaten. Generous serves and perfect time frames from arriving, drinks, entree, mains, dessert. Could not fault and will return for sure.

    Lovely experience from start to finish Recommend to dine here - King prawn risotto is next level - highly recommended We had bottomless banquet with sensible serving size and quality pinsa and pasta Refreshing cocktails also Pleasing to read profits go back into community- and pay forward - pleasantly surprising for a restaurant in these economic times that can be challenging for hospitality. Happy to return and recommend 😘

    Delicious food and wine, beautiful restaurant and very friendly staff. Second time dining here and looking forward to returning again soon! If you want to visit Italy without leaving Melbourne, this is your restaurant.

    We waited ages for our food, and some of it was served lukewarm. Believe usual chef wasn’t there, and they had a function upstairs. Guessing understaffed. Waitress was apologetic and offered to take the wine off the bill, a lovely gesture. Feel it’s a better lunch place than dinner. Lighting very bright too.

    Had never visited before but pleasantly surprised. Very authentic Italian atmosphere and the food was delish.
