   A total disappointment. Only had the buffet available (which wasn’t known at time of booking). For a whopping $62 per person, the buffet was terrible. Poor selection, bland food, barely even warm,l, the minuscule desert selection looked as though it came from Costco. And then to top it off, a rat ran past our table. I have never been so angry about a night out. Whoever is responsible for this restaurant should be very embarrassed. .

   Buffet works ok while construction on kitchen continues into summer of 25. Excellent presentation. Excellent quality food. Make meal reservations early! Tables very close to each other. Elbow to the head could happen very easily your seated so close. Great atmosphere with live piano playing. All in all very enjoyable and tasty

   We recently had 3 breakfasts and 2 dinners at the Ahwanhee. The breakfasts were great, a buffet of good choices from eggs Benedict to pastries and hot cereals and fruit. Coffee and juice were served to us. Dinner was disappointing. The kitchen is still not rebuilt so dinner also was a buffet. But most of the food was cold and left overs were used the second evening i.e., quinoa the first night and then a vegetable quinoa medley the second night. I look forward to dinner a la carte when the kitchen reopens. I understand it is difficult to run a kitchen out of temporary buildings. The service was impeccable and of course the dining room itself is amazing.

   Our waiter was very professional and attentive. We had the prime rib and extra large shrimp. Both were seasoned perfectly. The salads, asparagus, cauliflower, potatoes were so good. It was a huge treat after a day of hiking. We will do it again on our next stay.

   It was a beautiful experience. But this isn’t my first time to the Ahwahnee. The out do themselves from staff to food every time. Will be back.

   While the main kitchen is closed for construction, they are doing ok out of cooking pods…can’t wait for the re-open!

   The dining experience was over all lovely. The prime rib was delicious and so tender. The service was professional and fun. Everyone made us feel right at home. We will definitely return.
