   The ambience of the room was fantastic. The staff was very kind and friendly. The piano player made it so special. The food was delicious.

   During the Ahwahnee restoration, dinner is a buffet. It is expensive and the food is not very good.

   The buffet diner left a lot to be desired. The carving station was the best part. However, the meat is rare. The sides were a disappointment. In the mixed vegetables the carrots were under cooked. The potatoes were boring and needed some seasoning. My wife and I enjoyed the soup and the desserts were good. There were very few options for my wife who is gluten free. I will not be coming back until they reopen the kitchen and have table service again.

   Outstanding. Some of the best prime rib I have ever had. Very courteous staff! Great view! Highly recommended

   My husband is an omnivore & was delighted with the dinner selections. Vegetarian/vegan options were uninspiring. Labels were not all in place - where the sign said 'squash' there was a tray of mushrooms with a few pieces of squash in it. The best part of the evening was the gentleman playing piano. He was wonderful!

   This was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, customer service was excellent everyone was kind, friendly and ensured that we were having a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend having dinner here.

   The setting and service were as expected at the Ahwahnee. The food is only served buffet style and was good, but not up to old Awahnre standards. It was okay, but not delicious. The best part was the Mac and cheese. The chicken was a bit dry. The only need was very pink. To get a piece more done they would cut some off and send it back on a small plate to be cooked some more. I didn’t bother. The bread was only okay, nothing special. The soup was very good but barely warm enough for consumption. The desserts were good. We won’t be returning unless they go back to standard restaurant service, not a buffet.

   The food is good and the price is good. A very good meal at a very reasonable price in a marvelous environment. However, the Ahwahnee is an icon, in a fantastic location. Years ago their dining room was on par with this reality. Nowadays it's a very reasonably priced, good buffet dinner. BUT NOT what you would normally expect from this class of establishment! There is something special about the ambiance of the Ahwahnee and their staff that have been toiling away there for decades. We've met waiters and waitresses who have worked at the Ahwahnee for upwards of 40 yrs. Their services are NOT needed in a buffet setting...so you just miss that! We had the buffet experience at the Ahwahnee last year in January, and were told then that they expected the situation to change before the end of last year. Evidently there were delays etc. What was more dissapointing than the meal, was that this year we were NEVER told that the dinner was going to be " buffet" ...we possibly would NOT have come had we known...but honestly that's not certain since the food and value was good. I guess the most dissapointing thing is being surprised that we were in for another buffet, and missed the fun and experience of interacting with their wonderfully knowledeable staff....

    You can’t beat this GORGEOUS dining room! Low light, candles, quiet. Always have the perfect prime rib. Still buffet style, until the kitchen is complete, should be April 2025. The the asparagus in February was divine as was the Caesar salad. Deserts a bit lack luster for me.
