The Alexander Hay (formally Balls Brothers) is a hidden gem, located downstairs in Hays Galleria. Situated away from the busy streets of London and just a 5 minute walk from London Bridge station. If you’re visiting the Shard or strolling along the Thames, why not pop in for lunch or a cocktail?

Please note our current kitchen opening times are:

Monday - Wednesday: 11.30am - 3pm then 5pm - 9pm.
Thursday - Saturday: 11.30am - 9pm.
Sunday: Closed

The perfect place to relax and catch up with friends and colleagues. Downstairs you will find a smart bar with stylish, cosy décor offering an all-day food menu, wine list, beer, real ale and plenty of cocktails.

Terrible experience! We were seated at a table where there was a very loud beeping noise. There were no staff around and I had to eventually walk around to find someone to ask if we could be moved. Once seated at a new table we waited ages for someone to serve us. We ordered drinks and were told that most items on the menu were not available. We ended up paying for the drinks and leaving! Would not recommend

Lovely setting and the food was good. The guy serving was outstanding, I think he was running the whole place on his own and he was fantastic. Good location close to London Bridge.

We had a really attentive and helpful waitress who helped one of the party who was GF mix and match their meal. The bottle of wine we ordered was very good and discounted. We wanted coffee at the end of the evening meal but no hot drinks were available at that time, so we asked for another glass of the same wine. The waitress thought that would not be possible because it was not their standard bottle, but came back having spoken to the manager who had agreed to open another bottle, recognising that no hot drinks had been available.

A group of work colleagues, was slightly difficult to find but once there or was a lovely venue. Customer service let the experience down as staff didn’t seem very welcoming. The Snapper was not available sadly but alternative choices turned out to be very satisfying. We were a group of 7 and waited a bit long for our food but as the drinks were flowing we didn’t mind. Will visit again.

Good food, range of choices, quiet lunchtime atmosphere, service attentive and accurate. Fair value.

Beautiful setting, quiet place for the business dinner with an ambience. We booked starters and 3 course menu. Meat platter felt a bit empty for 17.50 gbp price. My starter (fish ceviche) didnt keep up expectations. Main (steak) was great. Dessert (lemon coux) tasty. Cocktails average for the price.

We went there for a quick meal before going to see a concert at the O2. Nice decor and relaxing atmosphere. Staff attentive and food was very good, and value. First time here but will come again.

Back to ordering at the bar which takes ages, although it says there is a app we had no table number. Food over priced for what it was, very basic. Good place for drinks but not for dinner

Def not a place to go if you have children - their site does not state no children from 5pm but considering this place is in the heart of London Bridge and serves food and lists themselves as a restaurant and bar they refused us entry - there is nothing on their website either so a very disappointing night on Friday in that we had to walk the streets in the rain finding another venue!
