Our Christmas Menu MUST be pre-ordered, it cannot be order on the day of booking.
The Anchor in Danbury is the epitome of an English Country Inn, boasting beautiful traditional beams, quaint shining brass and a warm welcoming atmosphere which has made this pub a firm favourite for many years.
We have a lovely large garden with a fun children's play area, great for keeping the kids entertained while you catch up with friends and family over a relaxing drink or with some great food.
- Four legged friends are welcome at the pub, please ask our friendly staff for confirmation on which areas can accommodate you as we do require that dogs are kept out of the main dinning areas.
- Please note reservations with a dog are necessary, and can only be taken over the phone on 01245 222457 stating you have a dog.
- If you have a pushchair/buggy we ask that you call to make reservation, due to limited space.

    Wax not allowed to order a Christmas lunch as it was not pre booked. Nowhere on their website say individuals need to pre booked, only companies. Overall experience was very poor

    Great place to go to eat or just have drinks. Quality food with great service too. This pub/restaurant has a very good selection of draught beers aswell.

    Always had a positive experience at this pub, but yesterday we were seated next to the gents toilet (which was busy as the pub was busy) this area is also the dog friendly bar (we don’t have a dog!) This was an early Christmas meal with family and was not what we were hoping for. The food is ok, nothing special that you would not find elsewhere. Don’t think we will return.

    We had the Christmas menu which was pre booked easily and had the table we requested. The staff are always so attentive and caring, the food was delicious, great portion sizes and we had a truly wonderful time. We always enjoy our visits here. Would thoroughly recommend everyone to go.

    Good food, especially the sea bass. Good service, friendly and lovely ambience. Definitely recommend. Will be coming back.

    Great food. Wide choice of menu for all tastes. Pub had lovely and tasteful Christmas decorations Very good service especially as it was very busy Would thoroughly recommend

    We all enjoyed a lovely, unrushed lunch - food was delicious - service was excellent … table served by several different team members all with a smile and professional attitude … we will visit again no doubt about that.
